Another welcome from Massachusetts, Cape Cod this time. Also welcome to the 5 ton club! Use it often and enjoy. I know I do mine. By the way, nice looking truck!
Here are a few pictures of the car shows I have attended recently with a few of the other local guys. Always draw a big talkative crowd and lots of serious looks when we pull in.
Hey Rick, weather is looking good for this Thursday so I am planning on coming up from the Cape. Hope to leave here around 3 so should be rolling in around 4ish pending any traffic problems. I have your number so if I need anything I'll give you a call. See you Thursday.
Hey Gralmk, I was thinking about attending the 25th show if the weather cooperates and I can get out of work a little early. It's about 1 1/2 - 2 hour ride. Would there be a space near you and the other MV's or is it just first come first serve? According to the web info about 2000 cars were...
Welcome mad jack from Cape Cod. Get to know your truck and drive it accordingly and carefully. With it being an A1 no ctis to worry about. Have fun. I do in mine.
The Cape Convoy had its pretrip meeting at the local tech high school car show tonight. Will be leaving at 0700 on Friday morning picking up a few others along the way.
Welcome from Cape Cod, MA. Have a great time with your 5 ton. I love mine. Lots to learn here! Here are a few pictures from our pre-convoy meeting at the local tech high school tonight. We are heading to the Weare, NH MV show on Friday morning.
Went to the local Saturday night cruise in in Dennis, MA. Had a great time. Lots of looks when we pulled in. Crammed me in pretty tight to a nice Nash station wagon. Everybody was receptive. :driver:
Thanks Ford Mechanic. The flap is pretty much wide open when running and even at idle it is at least half way open and no clanging. Hope it keeps water out when parked and make the muffler last longer.
After doing some reading I decided to remove the axle vents and link them all together and run the hose up to the firewall. I capped off the hose with a outboard fuel filter to prevent anything from clogging up the hose. The filter flows all the air needed to vent. I also prepped and painted a...
Welcome Fearedeffect from Cape Cod, MA. I will be in the convoy from MA to Weare. I am sure you are more than welcome to tag along to the show but may be a little slow for you. Enjoy the truck when you get it. Lots of great info and people on the site.
Welcome from just east of you on Cape Cod. Lots of good info and knowledge here. Ask lots of questions and review the tech manuals. Come to the military truck show in Weare, NH at the end of July and really experience the hobby. We are convoying up on Friday July 29th if you want to tag along.
Hey Buffalo, nice work you are doing. An idea I had for a floor mat replacement was a stall mat I saw at Tractor supply. Looks to be heavy duty rubber and comes in different sizes. I am sure you could custom cut it to fit the floor perfectly and give you some pretty good sound deadening and...
Hey AMF, Vintage Iron, a member here does all kinds of stuff strictly on military trucks. You can also find him on Facebook as A & H Recon. He does great work and is on Cape Cod. Look him up. If you need more info let me know.
