    Quick Bob Spring Mount Question

I did a search and couldn't find an answer. When using the springs from the Boyce bob kit, when they are centered on the locating pin on the axle they are way too wide to mount the perches to the frame. Do folks grind off the locating pin? What keeps the springs/axle from moving sideways...

How long did it take to replace the throttle shaft seals and does the vendor you mentioned sell the kit? Thanks for posting the result.

    just turned 100k, now what??

I think that should be in the wiki. Really important stuff to check that just gets away from us. Let's keep these going into intergalactic space with collector plates. But don't forget your zerks!

    just turned 100k, now what??

That's funny, because I was thinking that, but not in a flattering way, when I rolled 32k this weekend.

Below the ignition and a bit closer to the steering wheel.

What have you done to your CUCV today/lately - Part 2

Installed the HD lighting relays from LMC. The only thing that was weird was that it was reversed. The main connector from the harness is on the driver's side light, not the battery side. So I ran the power taps to the 12v bus bar on the firewall. While I was at it I installed the complete...

Did the 12 volt conversion. Made a funny video of the first start. Enjoy.

Congrats and great vid. This board could always use some more humor.

What have you done to your CUCV today/lately - Part 2

Changed the brake pads on the 1028. Wonder if they were original (got it with 19k)? Getting that shim pin and flat spring back in is definitely a two person job to hold the caliper up while beating on it. Didn't take too long though. Went with Napa Ultra Premium Severe Duty Product Number...

    Changed ALT 1 Belt

I always wait for the plugs to finish cycling before starting. I ignore the wait light completely. The throttle blip on Gen 2 is perfectly normal. Thanks for the tip on the Gen 1 belt part number. There is some stuff in the wiki which is wacky.

    Glow plug push button problems

I agree that proper wiring comes first and foremost, but for $3.50, I'll also take massive overkill. Kinda like the ring to it.

    Glow plug push button problems

Make sure the switch you chose is capable of handling the load. The first one I chose was not. This is the same one I used that works great...

Improve fuel efficiency in my M1009

You don't buy a CUCV for the mileage. Buy a prius. That being said, it will cost you way more in mods to appreciate a significant difference than the cost of fuel over time. Keep your filters clean, the weight off of your rig, and your foot off the right button. Live at low altitude and...

    Pull Starting a CUCV

I'd use kevlar winch rope wrapped around the crank modified to connect to a chainsaw.
