$25 Lawnmower batteries should be sufficient for them. They should also have pulleys on the front for a pull start rope.
Pull the cover and look for loose wires and fittings. Be careful overspraying ether, I had one backfire and ignite the ether overspray.
I'm looking to buy a block heater, but don't know the size and can't find it in any manuals.
Anyone have an idea what size these plugs are? I don't think I'll be able to measure mine until Tuesday, and want to place the order asap.
Ha! That's what I had planned when I messaged you about buying the engine. My log splitter is a gasser now, but I'd like to swap it over to diesel. Mine is a commercially produced splitter with very similar motor, so my case would be a simple matter of swapping the engine.
Ain't that the truth. I recently saw some kind of missile launching equipment being auctioned with no EUC requirement, but a flatbed trailer required one.
That screen shot is the popup after hitting "See all pictures".
I guess you guys aren't having this problem, which means it's not the site, but my system. Thanks for the quick replies.
Any suggestions on a fix are welcome!
Anyone else seeing an issue where the photos don't actually show up beyond the first 5?
I was looking at some listings today, and found that it said there were 72 photos, but as I tried to view them, they never showed up, just the initial 5 or 6 on the listing page. I clicked the links in the...
Where'd you find it? Got a link?
I'm not crazy about the hobby store stuff. I've thought about it a lot since then, and how little I want to re-do anything once the generator is in it's permanent home.
3-phase is a different beast. I don't know if it's true for these generators, but a lot of commercial gensets will derate when used in single phase. IE, I have a 35kw 3-phase Onan that becomes a 23kw when reconnected for single phase.
I'm wondering if the mep-803a can handle significantly...
Excellent info, the best I always guessed was that it was for accumulated moisture/water drainage during non-running periods, but that never really seemed to be the right answer. Mine in the pic was just slapped in and posing for the camera, not ready for running. I plan to plumb it back to...
One last reply before bed.
When I removed the old air cleaner, I flipped it over to find a sticker with make, model, and CFM... The factory unit flows 58 cfm.
Very true, and that did occur to me when I thought about what would come out in a 002/003 retrofit, but my mind was on the 802/803. I don't think it would be hard to route the inlet hose through the heater, as long as you can tolerate heated air all the time.
Life gets busy, I'm sure he's just tied up with higher priorities.
But reading back through this thread from the start just now, I noticed a lot of this could have been discovered with a camera through an injector port. I bought one when I bought an 803, because I wanted to see into the...
Sorry about that! It shouldn't be hard to adapt, though.
I may order one for my 802. If I do, I'll chat with you first, maybe I'll order the right angle output and we can trade.
Rustystud, if I recall, you have an 002 and 003 in service. My mind was mostly on my 803 when I wrote that.
Try this one instead;

It's the same unit, but with a right angle output, more appropriate for the 00x's, though...
