Well, this weekend I tried to do a headlight relay mod.
Got all the parts, only forgot the inline fuses, so when I arrived at my buddy, no modding.
Insead helped around, used the M1028 to jumpstart a deuce.
Going for fuses today and replace the H4 bulb connection on the passanger side, it is...
The bed, the engine, the horror... Nah, just kidding. Nicely done.
I prefer keeping it Original, although putting a gas engine in and running it on LPG is a loophole for the Dutch environmental zones, since mine is registered as a truck..
Groeten uit Nederland.. [thumbzup]
Going to do the headlight relay thing next weekend. If the weather clears and in between car meets and birthdays..
Horn suppressor already removed when i replaced it with 2 jaguar horns.
Gonna be a busy weekend.
I can buy all the components local, so no need for an expensive...
Melting, it gets hot, burning plastic smell. But it stays in one piece.
Had it pop one time, @ 11pm, had to drive with my flashing beacons to the nearest gas station (200ft) for a fresh fuse.
It is very dark without ANY lights
I made an 7-pin adapter for euro trailers, using a militairy plug and cable from an old trailer. putting a 7-pin connector on the other end.
Maybe very long, but at least I have an adaptor and extension cord, about 2 or 3 feet long.
Sometimes, things couldn't be more simple.
The steering stabilizer was loose, due to vibrations. So a little wrenching to tighten it up again.
After that took of th front wheels and did some cleaning. Also put some fresh grease in, it was needed.
Then put everything back on and went for a test...
Tires are good, when I changed tires some 2000 miles ago, I had the truck aligned and the steering stabilizer and draglink was replaced.
After that no more wobble.
It is starting again, I have a culprit in mind (steering box could be loose because of vibrations). If the weather dries up, I can...
Went for a trip for the first time in 2 weeks.. Did not make it out of town.
Death wobble is back, and even more wobbly then before..
Next weekend, I am going to pull the wheels and inspect the kingpin springs..
No car meeting for me on saturday, I guess..
The previous owner of my M1028 put a fun exhaust on mine.
From the engine bay till the bed, all stock, then flexible pipe, ending in the stock exhaust system for a Mercury Grand Marquis.
When it rots, I want a stock exhaust with balance pipe and cut-outs under the green beast :p
What is best...
Did some 4-wheeling and took my little sister with me.
We recently started playing Ingress, some fun app. It's about capturing portals.
We are the blue team and we captured some portals in the woods, where there is difficult acces for non-4x4 vehicles :driver:
It's fun playing on dirt roads...
Just got the pictures on photobucket:
Please note I did not get a chance to get to the living history and other displays, because of the bad weather.

Maybe a separate thread about the W&P would be good, don't know. Only...
Well, just could not get to the living history and other side of the racecourse.
Because of the weather and I had to walk everywhere.
We were on the Kitcheners Field camp site (old but accurate map). Next year planning on getting an ATV or so to get around..
Some other thing: I have about 120...
Just got back this morning at 6.25 AM. Parked the truck and went to bed. At 12.30 PM I woke up and started to unload.
After unloading the shelter I had to sit down a while. Kinda tired from the long night.
Pictures and the story of the trip will take a little while.
Greetz, Rob
Edit: Teasers
Barry, I can find someone to tag along. It's thursday behind a Deuce. Slower driving, more distance to meet up, more stops, because he has his little girl with him.
Maybe today or tomorrow afternoon I will leave.
The migrant problem is in Calais, I will be travelling from Dunkirk.
Still...
