I'm going to limit my driving (other than to get the trailer) to morning hours so I don't have to worry about it too much. I'll be leaving Thursday morning around 0430 so should have it nice and cool by the time I hit Ft Hood. As long as Murphy doesn't cause too many problems I should be on...
Heat injuries can sneak up on you so be careful. I'm doing most of my stuff in the air conditioned shop instead of the driveway but that does make it kind of hard since I have 8' doors and the LMTV won't fit. I went out to check some spacing on the accessory box I'm doing for the dash and the...
35-45° The biggest thing is fighting the heat coming in to keep the cab cool. 54° at the vent right now means the cab will stay in the mid-80s when it's around 90° outside. I'm hoping once I get the floor insulated so there isn't as much engine heat coming through that it will make it down in...
We're making a little head way on the AC. Apparently the shop didn't tighten the Schrader valve on the high pressure side so whenever it got up where it was supposed to be it was leaking freon. After buying the appropriate sized valve tool and getting that squared away Keith_J added 2 1/2 cans...
I'm trying to stay as close to "in service" as possible for shows and such. Since I see camo trucks pulling tan trailers all the time I figured that was the correct combination :)
I'm going to take some plug in lights with me too (just have to figure how to hook them up to the 12v plug) that way I have a back up in case the intervehicle cable is no good or missing from the bed when I get there.
Thanks for the offer but I think I'm going to wait until I get it home to delve into it. It could be the line was just folded over in the pic or it could be missing the end. Best to get it all figured out before I start ordering parts.
Looks like the brakes are caged so I'll probably just tow it home like that. I'd hate to get in to something in the lot that locked the brakes up preventing movement.
Love that you have 8 business days to recover but can only do it on a Thursday.
I figured it was something common but just not sure how it connected on the trailer side before I purchase something. I'm imagining something that just screws into a port with the glad hand on the other side but having never been up close to one not certain.
The inter-vehicle cable is in the...
I bought a M1082 out of Ft Hood today. It looks like the emergency air hose has been cut. Anyone have pics of how the air lines hook up on the trailer side? I'd like to have everything I need to swap it out before going to pick it up.
I never would have thought it but it turned out to be extremely tight when I got the passenger side up. I had to wedge the front and back together then the only thing that would keep them in place were the screws. I better be happy with it as its staying there. Now on to the floor. yay
