I was high bidder on several today, only ended up with 1.
Koolex pointed out to me last week the massive number that were on the block, I think 40...
I wish this process went faster, I'd like to run out to Chambersburg tomorrow for recovery while I have a half work day. Anyone from Eastern...
Anyone know what happens when the event and lot number don't match the description?
IE, there's a serial number and particular nomenclature listed in the description, but in the photos, there's a different nomenclature, different serial #, but the event and lot number are clearly matching that...
I'm considering bidding on a lot of 6 items about the size of an average laptop case. GL says total lot weight is 200lbs, but I'm very skeptical of that. I'd be amazed if the lot weighed more than 40lbs.
Also looking at a single 60lb item that's extremely fragile (so probably already broken)...
Anyone know what the procedure for acquiring an SF-97 is with GL for a trailer with no serial number?
I've asked them twice, and the first response I got was "It's the customer's responsibility to inspect prior to bidding"; although I wouldn't need to since the ad said "serial number unknown"...
I'm thinking about painting one of my 101's semi-gloss black or dark blue (or other non-attention-grabbing color).
I stripped and painted one a flat/semi-gloss Olive green consumer/civilian paint and it came out great, but since I'm not towing it with an MV (yet), I don't really care too much...
Are the early A3 beds galvanized steel or aluminum?
Were M101 bed's ever manufactured with aluminum?
I've seen varying weight specs on data plates, so figured it wasn't entirely unreasonable. Every A1 I've ever seen is unmistakably steel. The A2's and A3's flake off paint like they're...
I've searched this question a dozen times and haven't really found anything comprehensive, so I decided to put something together for other novices like me...
edit:
I'm taking someone's advice/request and removing the "how to" section of this post. I'll leave the photos for interested party's...
I'm thinking about converting an M101 to hydraulic ram dump instead of the not-quite-designed built in dump method. I'm going to run over to Harbor Freight today and see what I can piece together with a simple hand-pump 24" hydraulic ram to lift the frame from the drawbar.
Such as this:
8...
I won 2 M101's today from Ft Meade. I was very casual about it and expected to be outbid, but I wasn't.
I won 2 M116A3's last week, too.
I'm going to have to sell a few of these just to pay the credit card bill... I need to delete that credit card on file with GL, it's digging me into a...
I'm prepping to go pick up 2 M101's this friday, but figured I'd see if anyone were making the trip and had room for these puppies...
I need to bring them from Ft Meade, MD, to Morgantown, PA. About 20 minutes north west of Exton.
If no one can make this trip, I'llbe making it, so I can...
I need to pick up 2 M101's about 2 hours and change from my house friday.
Anyone have an idea how long these units end up being when they're loaded as tightly as possible? I'm trying to figure out what length trailer to rent.
I plan to have the first one backed on, landing gear up with the...
Just won my first MV of sorts last week.
I sent in my EUC immediately, had it kicked back for a correction, and got it sent in finally friday. Now the wait...
I was going to post asking what I should think about in planning recovery, but I don't need to, seems there are plenty of those...
Hi, I'm finally ready to rack up the credit card debt and get my first duece...
I'm considering one from Ft. Meade, Chambersburg, or Mechanicsburg.
If I were to buy one from Ft. Meade, anyone have an idea of what kind of costs I'm looking at to have a professional haul it, and what the...
Hi all, just recently moved and am looking at surplus MV's again. I've checked out SS a few times over the years, but have never actually had a place to park a truck, so never thought too much more seriously about it than browsing government auctions.
Now I have a little property and a place to...
