5- because you will be the envy of all your neighbors, especially the kids
4- awsome for hauling things you just can't move with a pickup
3- it makes a really nice offroad vehicle
2- the chics dig it
and number one - it's just plain cool!!!!!
Seriously, when you go for a ride in it and nearly...
What about a M1008 with a lift kit and 37" HMMWV wheels and tires. The larger tires would help cruising ability and off road. The truck can pull a reasonable trailer reliably. If that isn't enough of a truck, I would go Deuce.
Like mine any way it happens to be. This is more reason to buy a third one. Cover stays on one, racks but no cover on another at times, and now I need one with no racks or bows just for the heck of it ;) Think I will go shopping for number three, now that I have a proper reason to explain to the...
For 1200 bucks there is a company that makes a bolt in unit for the CUCV. It is supposed to fit just like it came from the factory. It sounds expensive, but if you figure the time spent removing old used parts from a donar, paying for those parts, probably having to replace those parts with in a...
5 ton trucks generally are legal 10 ton payloads on highway, and I am going to guess if need be it could handle nearly 8 tons off road. At least it probably will for a little while any way ;)
Preview, preview, preview and be aware of that particular sites pick up requirements. It is a pain in the butt, and there is a certain amount of luck involved. The m1009 can be carried on a car trailer, if it is wide enough. Good luck, and don't forget to preview.
Did the same thing to my sisters Honda when my '99 Dodge 2500 was only a couple moths old. The receiver hitch stopped about 2/3 the way of the hood. Third car of hers someone backed into. She has a bad habit of parking real close and out of mirror range when in wide open driveways.
Wreckerman...
Actually it's one of the plugs on the bottom. I am not sure yet, but looks like it is either a pipe thread that needs some thread sealer, or it's straight thread and needs a copper washer.
Thanks! SCSG-G4 guided me to the manuals I needed, and yes it is the oil cooler where the plug is located. Found what I was looking for, and the repair should be an easy one ;)
I have a small oil leak on one of my multifuels, and finally took the time to track it down. It seems to be coming from a brass fitting(plug?) on the bottom side of what I am assuming is the oil pressure regulator(the rectangular assembly behind the oil filters). I am looking for a schematic...
The 6.2 will never have the power of a built up big block, but it can pull nearly as hard as the mid 80's stock gas engines if someone tunes up the IP. The mid 80's 454 was nothing to write home to mom about, and it will drink a lot of gas. If HP is the only concern, by all means freshen up the...
I have been selling off all my gas powered vehicles and replacing with diesel MVs as hard as I can go. You won't beat the economy of the 6.2, and it has enough power to do what needs to be done. Now if you want a lot of speed and don't mind wasting gas to do it, the 454 may be a good choice. I...
I have 3 CUCVs and 2 Deuces. They each have their places. My CUCV is my every day driver and does the job very well. For heavy hauling or ultimate cool factor the Deuce rules.
I am thinking if I win something it will just end up being a road trip to go get it and drive it home. Got to win the bid first, and lately things have been bringing rather high prices for my cheap self ;)
