Won an m109a3 on gp, no clue if it's running due to conflicting information in the inspection.
This is my first time filling out an EUC, so i am not sure when I will need transport.
If anyone is in the area and can help me out, it would be greatly appreciated.
Still need to remove the old fuel filter as it is leaking everywhere, so no constant fuel supply at the moment. Started it up in gear and took it to the end of the street, turned it off, started in reverse and backed it into it's old position.
Clutch isn't engaging, brakes don't work, and...
A bit more info on the truck.
Unfortunately I haven't been able to get Metro Crown to send me the TM, but they sent me the spec sheet for the vehicle.
Table I-I. Leading Particulars

combatmech: No problem, and thanks for looking :) For now, I am figuring stuff out as I go, No different than working on a motorcycle or a vw.
southdave: It was a 6v positive ground system, so far I have chopped three sets of wiring out of it with bolt cutters.. Partially melted original...
Just to let everyone know, I started a build thread here.
I figure at this point it's probably best not to have everything in the new member intro thread.
I am hoping to get some more work done on it this weekend. So far I have started it on starter fluid, used bolt cutters to remove 80-90%...
Had to redo a bunch of shelving in the house, so didn't get much work done on it. Today I started rewiring the ignition, only to have the ignition switch lock up completely, and a toggle switch fall apart. Picked up some replacements today (and a replacement starter solenoid), will work on it...
porkysplace: tried those and more, emailed the naval air museum in Pensacola, etc.. As for a beer hauler, I told my 11 year old nephew I am teching him to drive on it as it is standard tranny, he asked why, I responded with "my land has access to around 1100 miles of private roads, and your dad...
Figured I would start a build and documentation thread as this seems to be a pretty rare one.
It was bought by the po 30 or so years ago and used as a farm truck, about a year ago the clutch and brakes went and he couldn't find anyone to work on it. I ended up getting it onto the car hauler...
kb5kou checking in.
Received my first license a bit over 20 years ago, novice class. Finally decided to go for my general license a year or two ago. I used to have a really nice boat anchor with crystal cartridges for different bands; don't rem the model, but it received voice fine and...
Jesse6325:
Orange Grove! I remember driving through there when I used to take my VW Thing to Corpus along the scenic route. Been a long time since I have heard that name :)
Thanks much, this restoration is being started on an extremely small budget, at the moment the budget should cover oil...
two.fiveM35: Thanks!
A little update, if anyone has information or a copy of NAVWEPS 19-25-115, it would be greatly appreciated. I ended up with a couple of pages from it, and it is the correct manual for this vehicle. Unfortunately there doesn't seem to be any easily available online source...
combatmech: Thanks much! That is pretty much the response I have gotten from everyone. The museum response was that the equipment chief and their library contained no information on it, they searched the tech chief's library with no luck, but were going to pass the request to the tech chief and...
Blueduce: Very cool, this will be my first time trying to title something that is lacking a vin, so figured I would ask before I get everything together.
It looks like finding info on this is going to be a real pita. The museum has no records or photos concerning it, but they forwarded my email...
197thhhc: Thanks!
USAFFS: I plan on insuring it if I ever use it on the road, but once I get all the work done on it and get it repainted, registered, etc; it will still be spending most of its time in the yards. Luckily my brother's place is across the street from my backyard, and at a dead...
I have a bill of sale on the vehicle, but have been unable to locate a VIN.
For the purposes of titling, would the serial number on the data plate suffice?
Also, as the vehicle is going to be sitting in either my back yard or my brother's while it is being worked on, would form SR-2 suffice as...
Thanks for that, am reading it now. Originally I was thinking of fabricating a windshield (since it has places to mount the supports), and doing a little work on removable additions (turn signals, seat belts, etc) and then registering it as an LSV, but I would be much more interested in getting...
Managed to clean up the stamp a bit more, element is an MS35346-1, will probably try to source a wix 51100 for it.
I also looked over the year and engine serial, it seems this thing was 6-volt positive ground at some point, not sure if they did a full conversion or not, so will need to check...
I managed to get some of the stuff cleaned up in the engine bay.
Motor is a Wisconsin vg4d spec no. 294141
Sticker on oil filter housing is unreadable, stamping says "Replace element with MS3xx46-1" xx looks like it could be x5 not sure on the two x's
Thanks much combatmech, I am going to...
armytruck63: Good catch, the po said that when he did the points and such, the replacements came from chrysler. He also said that he believed the rear axle and pumpkin were a ford product. Not sure on the oil filter as I haven't taken anything apart yet or looked for model numbers, I do know...
