I'll be curious to look at those Greg, I wonder if the Army was nice enough to make the plugs interchange.
I'd probably have to rebox the goodies inside to make it fit in the scrawny-tawny MEP-531 Gen frame but I am sure it could be done.
That is certainly a very good option Isaac.
I'd rather have completely correct stuff so, if it is as easy as just moving the Yanmar engines over to the Mep-015 and MEP-025 gens I'll probably do that, if not then I'll just do the replacement panel thing.
Yes, the L48 Yanmar diesel runs at 3600 RPM.
I have seen them fitted to several items that were originally afflicted... I mean fitted with the 2A016 gas engine.
Hi guys,
We just picked up some MEP-531 gens from GL out at Ft. Riley that had been fairly severely pilfered. It looks like I’ll be able to get probably 2 out of 4 of them back in operable condition. The price was fair enough, so I cannot much complain. The other pair look as though...
Here's a few pics from past events to give you an idea what we do out at East Wind:
Here US troops move out as infantry support for a British FV-701 Ferret armored car. We make extensive use of vehicles at East Wind since we operate on large enough pieces of property to make them tactically...
Announcement:
Operation East Wind IV dates and location have been set.
When: March 12th –20th 2011
What: Operation East Wind is a 9 day long 24 hour per day immersive milsim event set in the closing days of the Cold War. From the moment you arrive till the moment you leave, you are...
This is SORT of MV related so I thought I would post up here in case you guys are interested.
Tascabe and I run an event called East Wind that is a Cold War era “what if” reenactment. This year, we are running at D-Day Adventure Park in NE Oklahoma. East Wind runs for 9 days straight 24...

Unfortunately, we do not have a user level manual for it but we do have some stuff here on the page in the Night Vision section. Also, do check out the Night Vision film, while it is not specifically about the TVS, it is from the...
Also, we do have manuals for this. My web guy should have them in the training section of the East Wind site today sometime, I'll post a link once he gets them there.
I have one as well. It's amazing for something that old.
We are going to use it at East Wind (cold war reenactment) to keep an eye on the border with.
Teamed up with our Hughes Probeye thermal imager, this should make one mean LP/OP
It is 7X magnification and QUITE heavy so you'd...
I cannot express enough how great of a time I had down at D-Day.
The hospitality was first rate and the facility is absolutely the most MV friendly place you could possibly go. The network of trails Dewayne has out there offers an excellent diversity of opportunity for guys who want to get...
We've got a 1 inch machine that's absurdly heavy and then a 1/4 inch machine that is about 15 steps past absurd on the weight scale. It has a crazy giant electric motor on the back of it that drives a flywheel and whirrs up to RPM before you hit the trigger to have it cut. I am pretty sure that...
Good chance I could make the Oct 2-3 date. I could probably needle Brett into dragging his UAZ-469 or his Gaz-69B out too.
Always a good time to hang out down there and those are VERY MV friendly trails!
You guys are TOTALLY missing the point of the rifle mount....
Nevermind rifles, you don't need those too often.
Coffee cups! That's what the rifle mount carrys. You can wedge a gas station coffee cup between the rifle mount and the dash and they stay there nice and solid even when you are...
I thought about that but this thing is seriously, absurdly heavy.
I don't think it would be practical to ship it unless someone had a serious boner for an arctic canvas top and I doubt anyone is THAT excited about one.
As far as keeping warm in the winter, my deuce has a fuel fired heater...
Rubber makes sense since this thing is absurdly heavy. Seriously up there with a GP Small tent weight wise.
Perhaps I need to stick it on the truck and see how I feel about it on there. I use this truck for East Wind so I really want it to be more typical 1980s-1990s so I think the canvas...
I happened across a pair of the Arctic canvas cab tops for the Deuce at a Flea Market a little while ago. I had one friend I knew needed a canvas top plus I figured a spare top for my truck wouldn’t be a bad idea to have hanging around so scooped the two of them up.
I gave one to my buddy...
I’m planning on making it down. I’ll be bringing my M35A2 and probably my MKT since I need to pop it open and fiddle with it some anyhow and that’s as good a time as any to do it.
