I use this one on my deuce on the negative side. Works really well and I don't worry about it handling the amperage. Also is a good theft (and kid) deterrent. You can get it here: McMaster-Carr
Could you post what you come up with? I have two with broken leads and haven't found a substitute.
I wondered if the capacitor is needed, is this in place only to supress radio interference or does it have a purpose in the charging system?
There are several vendors often mentioned on the site, all have their pluses and minuses. Since you asked I personally like White Owl. White Owl - Home Page
For the cable -- If real surplus is pricey try a standard "Lever and knob control cable assemblies" at Mc Master-Carr (McMaster-Carr). I got one with a cable end and added the clevis end to match the original. Biggest pain with that is the dozen or so bolts to take off the fan shroud so you...
You will get comments about searching the archives...so do that now. Short answer is you should find threads that talk about the safety circuit that has two components - - 1.) Oil pressure switch and 2.)Overheat switch. When you release the starter knob it energizes that circuit and if either...
I would lean toward needle and seat. Check float adjustment, is needle seating all the way? Does float have a pinhole? I can't think of another circuit that could put that much gas into the intake in such a short time (especially if you don't have an electric fuel pump) The YS/YF are so...
For future searchers of this thread - I wasn't saying the oil pressure switch was in the starting circuit (its not). what I said was if you manually turn the starter by jumping it the set still wont start because to start S1 (the starter switch) has to be in the crank position to bypass the...
If you are jumping the starter without holding the start switch to "crank" on the panel you are not bypassing the low oil press shutdown circuit. If I recall the manual correctly the crank position bypassed low oil shutdown pressure circuit which is why you are supposed to hold the crank...
Hi Carl_in_NH
Yes I picked the trailer up on 17 August. Scott from USFPO office loaded me without a problem.. Trailer had one brand new tire, one 75%. Inside the bed was a 105 top and a nearly new desert tan 101A2 top -so I am happy.
Thanks everyone I did talk to GL Chris, he won't be there but gave me 2 local contacts as Ehinlien got.
I won the worst M105 of the bunch for tires and the top. Rest of it parted and scrapped, PM me if you need 105 parts (besides tires and top)
Thanks for info on State Police, I am taking a...
Hi, I am picking up at Devens this week. GL item description is not too helpful. Does anyone know the drill for Devens? Is there security? Is the point of contact the Mass ANG shop or is there a GL person there? Description says unit will help load, do they?
Thanks very much!!
Green Mountain Military Vehicle club had a nice showing at the Parade in Hardwick Vermont on Saturday.
Hardwick is a small town but they put on a nice tribute to our soldiers.
If you can't find the original (or can't find it cheap) the throttle is a pretty typical setup for a control cable with locking knob. I found one that worked on McMaster Carr site..
Knife switch from McMaster Carr on the negative side. Not theft deterrent but as simple as you can get plus I don't worry about amperage.

Notice on the same page they sell Mil style battery terminals, those are good too!
