Now days you gotta know your stuff when it comes to this stuff. I recently had a similar situation at the local west marine. Drove 30 miles to pickup what should be a stock item... gave the make, model and year of my boat and the kid at the counter does a little clicking on the computer and says...
Somebody finally put me on the board.... I can win this! If I win I will let everybody who voted for my HMMWV drive it if you come by.
I will resort to bribery :jumpin:
Lots of tough choices, but I had to go with Westech's Mutt... Obvious that I lot of attention to detail has gone into this rig.. and the photograph is sharp.
In a few decades when they are rarer than hens teeth you might think differently. With the current sale there will be less than 0.016% of them ever made in private ownership... And many of those will be getting modified from original condition... so the original ones will be a great investment...
I don't think the States do care, except that they are getting pressure from the fed and the Manufacturer is the driving force behind the restrictions. No state is going knowingly register something that the builder says in unsafe.
The letter to the state of CT from AM General which I linked...
Gov Planet isn't who put the restrictions on them. The ones that recently sold on GL from BSA also had the same restrictions as did the USMC trucks from 1999. Yes some got titled and registered, but states are cracking down now and pulling titles when these trucks transfer ownership.
There was...
Correct: CT issues a tag for an ATV on off-road vehicles. Many western states have special ORV tags.
The question here though is about importation, not registration. I think that importation laws are on the importers side, (if vehicle is over 25 years old) but there would be a lot of resistance...
I would guess not because there would be no record of it being released from service in the USA which is a requirement of ownership. Perhaps your importation paperwork would be enough, I am not sure about that. I would seriously investigate this before attempting to import or you might find that...
Either way I can't read any of it. Ironically whoever it was meant for probably can't read it either. Kinda like the navigation system in my wife's Korean built car... even in english I can't understand the girl enough to find my way out of a paper sack... I just mute her and watch the map.
Look at the "start" section on the switch. Ya YI, none of it connected together................? Using a translator for start it doesn't match either: Top is Hebrew, bottom Arabic.

Actually looking at comparisons I think the description is wrong and it is in fact Hebrew. It would not be the first time that a GL description was wrong. Which would mean these trucks were slated for Israel.
See the examples: 2nd is Hebrew text, 3rd is Arabic text.
Might not be either...
Keep us posted on how they are side by side... it would be interesting to know much more guts the turbo has. What do you plan to do about the shelter weight or did you buy a shelter too? As is they are not balanced to drive without the shelter in place. They can be driven short distances at low...
