Talk me into, or talk me out of this deuce.

Deuces have A/C, just unlatch the windshield and push outward while flooring the accelerator.... the faster you go the cooler it is. The heater is worth about a grand, pull it off and sell it if you don't need it, there are plenty of people who want it.

Talk me into, or talk me out of this deuce.

Awesome yes... Has heater and hardtop a plus. Whistler turbo is a no go IMO... They are loud and as a semi-commercial beekeeper myself, the bees will not be happy with that thing screaming near them while in transit. (look for a D turbo instead of C) Also I would go with an M35a2C if you want to...

    Uh Oh...M934

You could sell it to me for 3300.00 and than you will not have the headache of having of picking it up and parking it in your yard :D

    flat tow HMMWV

For 75 miles just hire a roll back to get it... the couple hundred bucks will be well worth it. I can't tell you how many times I have gone to retrieve stuff my self to save a buck and it ended up costing me more than hiring it out would have. Last items were a couple of trailers. Cost me 2 days...

Importing Caterpillar D.E.U.C.E. Deployable Universal Combat Earthmover

Considering that the listing states "subject to VAT unless sold outside EU" I would guess that it could be exported. US customs isn't going to care, the question is will the Ministry of Defense? Like mentioned above; declare it as anything other than a military vehicle.

Best way to hook up a 24 volt winch?

I would use the slave port, it makes taking it back off pretty simple if it needs to be serviced.

    Looking at a 404

I hope that one day the hmmwv has the following that the Unimog has. So far so few have been released they have been relegated to the fringes of off road society... they have been so expensive that you needed to be a trust fund baby to own one and off road it. I am comfortable with the price I...

    Looking at a 404

I guess there are just a lot of "inexperienced" people operating unimogs and putting the videos on youtube then... there are literally 100s roll over forward, backwards sideways and stuck unimog videos... Or may be unimogs just are not cool unless the footage includes mayhem. Pretty much the...

    Deuce load?

The suspension and axles can handle it for sure... brakes not so much.

    Looking at a 404

When is the next semi-annual? I would love to come down and see what it can do, but I have to go through it first and likely will not be ready by the 11th. EUC might not even be approved by then.

    Looking at a 404

I typed "breakover angle", but was thinking rollover angle. It is really apples and oranges and I am sorry that some are taking offence. Like I said before I am not disrespecting the mogs. And I know that the video was of a 406 diesel... that was my point... if the diesel couldn't do it the...

    Deuce load?

This is mine with 9000 lbs of reclaimed concrete. Max load rating is 5 ton or 10000 lbs on an M35

    Looking at a 404

A Discovery is lighter than a HMMWV.... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qTmlZ5TIrUU A winch is a different story... I have pulled full size Broncos out with a polaris atv chained to a tree with it's winch. Not disrespecting mogs or anything, I think they are great. Just saying humvee recovery...

    Looking at a 404

Mogs are a great investment and apparently going up every day. I would not get a 404 though, if you are going to spend that kind of money go for a diesel, you will be much happier. I started looking at mogs about 15 years ago and you could import a 404 back then for under 4 k. I thought it was...

    M998 Overhaul Plate Identification

Yes you definitely want to keep the original year of manufacture. Highway safety standards only apply to vehicles that are newer than 25 years, and many states have similar rules. Also if you are using it as a display for parades and such you may want classic plates due to cost reasons.

M998 from Orrtown PA to Southbury CT.

Before I book with a logistics broker I figured I would put it out on here and see if anybody wants earn some cash and move a Hmmwv for me about 300 miles? I prefer it be trailered and not tow bar. I would also like the canvas taken off and folded up before transport. I am awaiting EUC so the...

    M998 Overhaul Plate Identification

In the civi world we call it a "glider" when an old truck gets sent in for complete overhaul. Only it also resets the year of manufacture on the title to the year that the glider was performed. Essentially any thing that still meets spec for a new truck gets re-used and anything worn gets replaced.

    Issues with SF-97

First time EUC takes a usually 3-4 months for approval if you get approved. One of the things with Ironplanet that I think GL did better was explain the process and warn of the long wait times. Ironplanet doesn't seem to really say anything about the process, just kinda lets you get surprised...
