5 Ton therapy.......photos of gooseneck hitch added
Finally got around to changing my fuel filter. We found a 32' tandem dual at a great price so my military hauler is complete. The truck runs good but I may turn the fuel up a little to get a little smoke coming out under a load. I rode around...
I know I am getting good fuel because the M35 runs great. I dread throwing all that diesel away in my M818 but I also hate pulling over on the side of the road to drain the separator too.....:-(
I will retain the stock set up but need to replace the filter. I have not ordered the filter yet. It has been 14 degrees here for 2 weeks and I have not wanted to mess with it. I drained the separator many times and it is still nasty so I just quit until I can replace the filter.
Maybe I was not clear. The dealership does not own and is not trying to sell it. The construction company that used it to pull a tub grinder does. I have no idea if the dealer even knows anything about the truck. If I get time, I will drive my 818 up there to take a comparison pic. With no heat...
Me too. I drive the M35 and M818 regularly. We participate in the Veterans parade and Christmas parade locally. This 10 ton would make a great addition to the parade. We just don't have room or the money for it.....
One of the local car dealerships has a 10 ton tractor. It belongs to Hutch-N-Son Construction in Seneca, SC. I think their # is 864-885-1688. I know nothing about the condition other than it runs and was used to pull a huge tub grinder. I heard they wanted $15,000..... I have no use for it...
Thanks for all the help. I can now change my fuel filter and clean my fuel system. If my 818 still does not diesel-smoke, I am going to turn the fuel up a little. Cam
I hope I don't get bashed here......
I have an 818 and am constantly having to drain off trash at the separator. Is this where the fuel filter is? Inside the cylinder under the driver fender? How do you remove the lower cylinder to access the cartridge? How do you prime the system or do you...
Kick off for the football game is 3:30 so we leave about 2:00. The National Guard usually has lots to look at. The Air Force usually has some stuff out. Some years they have flown Apaches in. Not sure what all is planned for 2009. We basically stand around and answer questions about our vintage...
Clemson University is having Military Appreciation Day Nov 21. We will be taking some of our vehicles to display. It starts at 9 am on Bowman Field. Thanks, Cam
I believe I saw somewhere it made 250 hp. I would assume it makes less torque than the 250 Cummins. I was just wondering if the Mack had more power than the Cummins but it appears not. I love knowledge. Thanks, Cam
FWIW, I just got my 818 listed as a "private" vehicle and got a farm tag. I do not have to have CDL or commercial tags. The 2 issues are that I can not leave the state of SC and can only travel 150 miles from home with the farm tag. Does not matter to me though. I drive them locally. Cam
