You really just don't know. I think if you could get a good deal from an individual, then it might be better. If you buy from the GL & it's out of your state, they tack on sales tax for that state. You will still have to pay to get the title, most individuals will have one. There is a fair...
I would believe 4k was a near figure on shipping. I shipped a 70 Austin Mini, & it ran. They call the shipping, roll on on, roll off . That monster is going to be hard to move, since it doesn't run.
I see your in Indiana. I was at Drexel a few months ago. They have a pile of 818's that have not been put up yet. A little caution though, some looked like they have sat for years.
You took the words out of my mouth! The car races are flat out stupid in Europe. Spectators like to stand just feet away from some serious speed. I guess it's natural selection at work!
I just got a depot rebuild M52a2, I must have gotten a smokin' deal! You really have to be careful on ebay. There is so many tricks that are used, like shill bidding. There is a 818 on our classifieds for $2950.
What is the difference between the M52a2 & the 818? I can tell that the engine is different, and the air filter location, but what else? Tire size, transmission, anything? Is the 54 just a older version?
The 818's in NJ sold fairly cheap ($2200 or less). The 818 on ebay sold for 3100 with a title, hard top & cab heat, fresh paint.
As far as the economy, we haven't seen anything yet. It took three years for the final effects of the depression to be felt. Maybe these items won't drop, some things...
As a newbie hear, what do you do to make sure the power feed is hooked up & working (exactly what is the power feed?) , and how do you pump up the fuel primer system? I watched a few of the 813's at Drexel do this exact thing & not start is why I am curious.
Where do you look to see if a truck has been a depot rebuild? I have seen a few trucks that somehow came with a "punch list" showing what the military repairs where done & still needed. Some sellers say they have these records of maintenance from the military, is this possible?
They had trucks scattered all over the place, some are for auction, most are not. Some are real turds, you will have to look closely at the pictures. I think tlry00's m35 will be fine (I could not find it) . I got the one I was picking up after changing out the batteries. Bring some ear...
