Battery cable connector crimpers? What to buy?

Go to E Bay and enter "Lenco #840". I have one of these it cost $22 to my door. I have used it in a vise, in a small press, & the hammer method, the press & hammer produced the best results. I have used it & loaned it out for 2 years. It is not a $200 tool, but then again it was only $22. Range...

    She wont start

Cap a.k.a. The mushroom that sticks out the side through the door that folds down over the fender on the right side. Gasoline, use a plastic quart oil/atf bottle with a hole pierced in the top or dish soap/ketchup bottle though some of these melt when exposed to gas.

    She wont start

If you put it back like it was and did'nt move anything, it's just loaded with air. Open the valve on top of the secondary filters and turn the pump on and let it push out a pint or more of fuel.Close the valve. Crack each injector line at the injector slightly. Take the cap off the intake &...

What could we feed our trucks when in a life/death situation?

Absolute emergency, if it will drain/strain through a double sweat sock and light and hold a flame it will get you moving for a period of time.

Engine oil mythology debunked, and ZDP content

Mmpphh fire bad!:| Excellent reading. Especially interested in the zinc aspect. I'm old guy with grey whiskers so I grew up in a time when some of these beliefs were repeated as the absolute end all truth. Still think Fire Bad!

    Best Configuration

The trucks were built to the same specifications with minor variations. C & D turbos 1 whistles 1 does'nt. Transmission 1 has a minor overdrive 1 does'nt older trucks do not have the airshift option. Continental, Hercules, White same recipe, same pie. Most of whats out there now is 1972 or newer...

    deuce boost

Where are you at on EGT's? When I set fuel to 1100-1150* I get 10-12# boost. Periodically I've turned fuel up to 1300-1350* & have gotten 15#. What turbo do you have? Mostly the concern with high EGT's is meltdown of the tubo. Titanium wheel would be great but, the cost would be so special.

Yes, the multi is an old technology dinosaur in the modern world, yet when it comes down to survival in primitive conditions it is still a king. Take your "HotRod" cummins and feed it a load of bad fuel, a mix of WMO, ATF, paint thinner and see how far it will go down the road. Soon the multi...

does this look right to you?

Got one out of Warner-Robbins that had a broken return spring underneath. That is the nice thing about these pick up sites, there is usually another truck to compare it to.

The variables are new vs. old style head gasket. Clamping force of the studs. Has the motor been abused in the past. I.E. run hot? Older block with the thinner deck therefore more prone to deformation as opposed to the newer TD block. Age of the motor in regards to the last overhaul. But for the...

Let's Discuss Ways to Increase Power Output

Head gasket problems could be reduced by o-ringing the TD block. Balancing the rotating assembly. Pistons are a limiting factor, no aftermarket stuff available that I know of. Reduce the weight of the crank by turning down the counterweights & have it indexed ground. Lunati is a good source for...

    Need fuel help A.S.A.P

Yeah, any type of positive air pressure will work just have the bleeder valve open. An old towel (or a new one if you are looking for a fight) makes for a fine seal aroud the fuel tank opening.

    Need fuel help A.S.A.P

Take the mushroom off the intake and give it a squirt of gas, not ether, the gas fumes will get it to start in short bursts until it primes itself. Don't over do the gas because once it starts to run on whats in the intake you have no control over it.
