    Legal and Safe?

 Yeah, I know there are a hundred and one ways to do this wrong and many/most of the code regulations represent someone's hard learned lessons. So of course my main interest is not killing myself or anyone else, followed closely by not damaging my or other property. Beyond that I'm...

    Legal and Safe?

How illegal and how unsafe is it to install something like a MEP003A or 004A in a detached garage/barn/shed, fireproof vent the exaust, power vent the building, stick a 250gal tank in the corner and a manual transfer switch to power the nearby house in a power failure (and the garage as needed...

    M101 Recovery, Ft Drum

OK, but how did you get them apart once you got home?!rofl Update on my own trailer - registered, lighted and working. It tows nicely on the road and highway. For some reason though, whenever I go out with it in tow, people seem to stare a lot. My VIN is three numbers long and *another*...

    Battery cut off switch

Computer geek by trade and I live in an area where the truck would grow legs and wander off into the night. WHEN I get mine in the spring, keyless remote entry hooked up to a relay should do the trick. Maybe with an led on the dash indicating go/no go. *chirp*

LDT in something other than a Deuce?

I noticed a thread on a Deuce with a V8 and I've seen some similar stories in the past. I wonder has anyone popped an LDT into something else? For instance I have an old Dodge Ram p/u. It's big and slow (not as big or slow as a Deuce) and pulls strong. I just wonder how it would work with a...

    Where's Your License Plate?

Mine is not a CUCV but it tows an M101A2. '91 Dodge Ram has a hard point for a pintle hook in center of the bumper. Normally you'd put the lic plate there. The lic plate can be offset to the left or right like ABN's pic. Even has a little hole to mount the plate light. Wicked short screws?

    Tell me your issues

Since *I'm* newish here I don't know if these qualify as new problems... I'm running IE8 on Win7. 1 - Images sometimes show is javaish popup and sometimes in _target (same window, no popup). 2 - Site is generally slow loading a page - most of the page will display, then a delay and...

    Outbid & Stiill Won Auction

That happened to me, too. I 'won' and later while I was gloating I looked at the list of won auctions or thereabouts and it was GONE! It was there a while later though.

1st purchase through GL, what should I expect?

Doghead - not sure if you saw my thank you in my pickup thread - the RV thing worked out, but *thank* you for the offer to help 'just in case'!

    My rhino-lined m1009

I did this test. It worked perfectly. The .308 *almost* made it through but the .223 just left a deep scratch. Pistol rounds just bounce off! (Do NOT really try this. This post is a joke. Rhino is NOT bulletproof)

1st purchase through GL, what should I expect?

I'll second this and point out that while you wait for the EUC, your vehicle sits in a lot vulnerable to scavengers (depending on the lot) and sometimes parts "go missing". Get the (usually) longer wait for the first EUC out the way with a less expensive item, like a trailer to tow behind the Deuce.

    2010 VIN Info Thread

Hi Carnac, here's hoping! This is for an M101A2 trailer I'd like to know a little more about. The thing I *need* is the date (or year at least) of manufacture and anything else is greatly appreciated! Make: Kasel Model: M101A2 Trailer Year: Unknown, but "delivery date" on the chassis is...

    M101 Recovery, Ft Drum

I'm in Mass so there was no possibility of a temp tag or a legal normal tow, so I rented a flatbed trailer to bring it back on. The tow vehicle was a 27k lbs Winnebago, so we really never even felt the trailer back there. Even the flat, we must have gone a couple miles before noticing... Back...

    M101 Recovery, Ft Drum

I am just winding down from a successful recovery of an M101A2 from Fort Drum. Won in March, EUC just cleared, pickup went smooth other than believing Tom Tom instead of Google and driving an extra 1 1/2 hours on the trip up and a flat tire on the trip back. Doghead - THANK you for the most...

You were assessed to purchase . . .

It used to mean straight pipes on a Sporty, but now it stands for interprocess communications :-D

You were assessed to purchase . . .

So I got this official looking letter from Defense Logistics Agency telling me I was assessed, reminds me of what I signed (the EUC app), yada yada. It doesn't actually SAY approved or denied. Are they just telling me they are looking into it or are they sideways saying I'm good to go? The...

    M101A2 Interior Headroom?

She's never let me forget the time she went into the garage to get something and found the Jeep she'd told me I couldn't get 6 months before. (oops!) That took a pair of very nice gold earrings to smooth over. This trailer is going to cost me new kitchen cabinets. I can't imagine what the Deuce...
