    Dead Transmission on M923A1

transmission fluid such as the synthetic dexron and 10wt oil do not mix and will cause the friction material be wiped out and will not build correct pressures. theres many, many posts where people have tried to do it them selves and they get in the truck and boom nothing.

    Dead Transmission on M923A1

How much came out? A dry system takes about 4.75 gallons so anything less then let's say 4.5 gallons you didn't get it all out. If you do not have a pressure filling Machine where it pumps old oil out and replaces it with new at the same time. but you will have to drain all the lines to the...

    Dead Transmission on M923A1

I think that's what I suggested in the first post to drain the fluid to check for contamination or a bunch of friction material. If it has 10wt oil in it I would replace with 10wt oil. If you want to have it changed to dexron please take it to an Allison dealer Becuase trying to do it your self...

    M816 with m932a2 cab?

Yes we have come to the conclusion that this may be a little more involved then we wanted. Although a vary cool idea by time I was done I might as well have just bought an m936. We do have the skills and the shop to do it but now that I think about I really like the look of the 809 series. I...

    M816 with m932a2 cab?

That's a great idea about the axles! I forgot about the brakes. That would reall make the truck cool to with full air. Hmmm, I wonder if it would be better to take the 816 bed off and put it on a 925 chassis, I think that would be easier. Yea I planned on making it an automatic, I'm still not...

    M816 with m932a2 cab?

Ok guys so I have been thinking about this for awhile now, my buddy has a m816 well he has a few of them but one is pretty garbage from the cab forward. He really wants my m923 so we are considering a trade for the wrecker. So instead of finding an 800 series donor we have been talking about...

    83 am General Truck batteries

Get 2 D8 battery's they are huge and weight close to 80-100 lbs but it's the cheapest rout to go to replace the battery's. You can find them at a heavy truck dealer/shop or at a farm supply store. I just put 2 of them in my m923a2

    M52a2 hub flip???????

I have the 1600s on HEMTT wheels and I did not flip my hubs and the truck tracks just fine. In my opinion the hub flip is for looks so the rims are all facing the same direction.

What Electronic items are on my M925 truck?

A fuel shut off slonoid would be good to have. Bulbs and extra gauges filters valve stems extra wire and Packard connectors a extra ppv is good to have get an air dyer rebuild kit get some axle gaskets and an extra PCB is deffintly a good thing to have. I would also stock up on 3 lever light...

M923a2 right rear wheel axle dripping again.

The sun would not cause a pressure build up to force out fluids. If it is just leaking sitting there it's the gaskets. There are 2 vent caps on each side of the axle they look like half inch round nubs. You can remove the caps and attach rubber hoses to them and run them to your intake stack or...

    How to control trailer air-brakes?

Your hand brake is not adjustable. The only adjustment is simply less pressure on your brake pedal. Or if using the hand brake pull it down less. Sorry so many people let thier prides take over and just start spewing irrelevant information. A lot of people on here forget that at one point they...

Another New Member with a M923A2 from GL posting first time experience.

Yea these m939 series trucks are tough but notas tuff as the all mechanical m809 series and older trucks. Just word of advice, I would not use reverse in low and locked, trying to pull anything, you WILL rip the transfer case right out from underneath the truck. And a a bit more advice just to...
