I have an m813 with the 16.00r20 michilen xzls on HEMTT rims they track fine
you need to cut the centers out of a pair of old rims to make a spacer for a good mounting surface for the rear thimble lug nuts to mount the front tires so you have enough stud for the lug nuts. Then you use the rear...
If I'm not mistaken I believe they use enamel paint pens. It's pretty resistant to cleaners in my experience as I use them at work as a mechanic and it sticks in oil soaked engines. The best way is to take like some 180-220 grit sand paper and scuff it off lightly and repaint with 383 green or...
Either is a hellavua drug for Diesel engines, will get them up and running like it was nothing. I started my 71 m813a1 today at -15 with a wind chill of -40 with similar results as your self. But I have the NHC-250 cummins which does have a intake heater, and a fuel pressure pump in the cab.
A...
Huge mistake on the dexron synthetic without changing the filters.
the military used 10w40 I do believe and if you did not change the filters or get all the old fluid out your gunna have issues, as stated above. Motor oil and transmission fluid don't mix well inside your transmission
Sounds like you lost first gear or the torque converter went out. The high rpms almost make it sound like it's not building enough pressure to engage the gear. Before ripping the trans out try changing the filter and putting in new fluid. This will A. Verify a blown first gear with all sorts of...
Ok so now that I calmed down a bit and in thawed my brain I have found a military vinyl repair shop in Ohio.
if anyone in Ohio needs vinyl covers repaired for under 100$ under 80$ for that matter, give J&W Canvas a call in mineral ridge Ohio. They are gunna have me in and out in the same day...
When you shift in to reverse you should hear air being released if you do it should activating the sprag gear. Sometimes I have to shift in to reverse after the tires start to slip and then in to first and that normally locks mine in on my m813a1
I would not run that much pressure in the tires if you don't have to if your running empty you should probably run 40-45 psi in the rear and 50-55 psi up front. If you fill them to 60 or 80 psi you are gunna get bounced right outta the cab.
It could be limited on the screw under neath the fuel pedal or could be limited at the injection pump. Check all the linkage and shat not.
But ur there is also a TM SECTION. That will tell you everything you need to know and how to do it properly.
Well I may have just won a m923a2 with the 6atc 8.3l cummins and I was just wondering what the fuel mileage is like on these trucks. If I win it (fingers crossed) I'll have 550 mile drive ahead of me. New castle Delaware to Cairo, Ohio.
Also if anyone is along the way and could possible give...
