@US6x4 You rock. Thanks for the reference. However I did pick up three sets of 16.00 Konig square link chains this summer. Right now I can only run a set on the front. I am putting in some time to figure the best way to extend my torque rods about 2-2.5"each. With the current gap of about 1"...
I have seen polyurethane mixed for motor mounts and the like and that is a great idea for this application. Figuring out the right durometer might take some trial and error.

I think I can hear the starter engaging but I don't hear the starter actually sound like it goes under load. Maybe to diagnose it you could put an amp clamp on the main power cable going to the starter to see what kind of amps it is drawing to know if it is actually under load...
From reading this monstrosity of a feed I was wondering what the end thoughts were from @simp5782 testing and others feedback. The "heavy duty" units are obviously way more expensive but have some clear advantages if they can hold up to the stress.
The advantages with the "heavy duty" unit I...
I was shooting for 60% Antifreeze and 40% distilled water. In the graph below you can see the freeze point dip. This is for three reasons,
First my engine I have never seen above 200 °F any time I have driven it which includes 100+ ambient temps, I am guessing my radiator is doing well and is...
When determining what to do if I do a turbo, I researched the air to air inter coolers and the water to air units. It is good to visualize that the compressed air leaving the turbo is going to be 250-400 degrees typically. The water to air in my opinion has the best advantages due to the...
You want something with SCAs. I used Napa Commercial. The reason you want this is the NHC 250 is a "wet sleeve" piston cylinder.
Here is the info from my build.

Can you post a pic of how you mounted your military ladder. I would love to see how you did it. I have one now and have some chains it hangs on but it is not solid.
Thanks for the response Mullaney,
Currently the clutch system is linkage. I have only theorized of putting in a clutch hydraulic system to remove the physical shifting problem between the cab and the engine/trans/t-case that could cause this type of issue. In the old days my friends had CJ5...
Hello all, My M813 is a bit odd, with the clutch. When attempting to slip the clutch to ease my rig into gear the clutch with grab then release then grab harder and release.
Example: Trying to back up very cautiously along the side of my house which is uphill slightly, as I let out the clutch...
Front locker in and the conclusion is.......
No issue in an M809 series driving on hard pavement. Don't even know it is there.
I will post updates as I have some driving time off road in snow or mud.
The front is at 60 and the 4 rears are at 52. My tires were new with the fuzzies on them and I found that running anything more than this that the tire side lugs were not wearing the same as the center section of the tires. When at the above psi the side fuzzies began to wear evenly with the...
Driving with the two rear lockers I honestly could not tell any difference on dry pavement. Truck turns same as always and no tire dragging due to the lockers being able to free spool the faster rotating tire.
Will be using my 1x4 air hose assembly I made back a bit to ensure that all 4 of these...
My friend Kenny was able to figure out how to get them back together without breaking fingers. From his description the two shafts need to be just slightly apart and the shafts at an angle to one another and the last ball will be where you can tap it in with a soft hammer. He did them both and...
Swapped in two new Detroit lockers into the rears and am doing the third this week on the front. I am with you, that was a lot of work to put in something that may let go. Who knows maybe it would have been OK.
Either way, I did pass.
In researching this issue though, I talked with the very...
Installed two rear lockers a couple of weeks back:

Honestly could not tell any difference in the driving on dry pavement.
Installing the Front Locker this week. With the 809 the transfer case is "free wheeling" due to the sprag not engaging...
Cant find anything in the TMs on how to get the 5 ball and claw assembly to reassemble. It is obviously doable but after having some close calls on busting my fingers trying to hold and swivel etc I though I might just ask here and save me a trip to the institution or hospital, whichever comes...
No kidding this was a bit much to bite off, but was able to punch the leaky inner seals out, replace the boots and put the locker into the chunk clean everything up on the top loader, reinstall the chunk and do some clean up of tools etc... On Saturday Looking to finish. Will be getting the...
