    M1008 dragged home today...

Another update. Was 27 this morning so figured I'd take a ride to town. Starts as easily as a new gasser, just fires right up. I know that isn't a true test for real cold but even at that temp it starts better than my neighbors beloved Ford 7.3 lol. Shifting better but still need some adjustment...

    M1008 dragged home today...

I may not have read that specific post, but I did see some talk about his problem in another thread. That's where I got the idea I better check mine out just to be sure. I can feel the vacuum pump drawing a vacuum but I know it's not enough and there are several leaks. The hose coming off the...

    M1008 dragged home today...

Indeed it is! A huge weight off my chest for sure. Not having much money to start and knowing I was rolling the dice with the engine seems it didn't run when I bought it, makes the payoff feel that much better. I'm not normally a gambling man, that's my wife's department lol. After the nerve...

    M1008 dragged home today...

Just a little update. The second IP showed up late yesterday so I got it installed and finally quit for lack of light. Finished up today with the bleeding and installing the intake. She's Alive! Was starting to get a bit discouraged and hoping the engine was good, you know, thoughts go from ehh...

Is this a M101? Data tag is missing

I've seen that too while looking through past GP auctions. There were a bunch just this month for the $350 range, and close enough I wouldn't think twice about driving. I have a search set so when they come up I will get notifications. Maybe I'll get lucky if any more come out of NY or Pa.

Is this a M101? Data tag is missing

I think they'll be above my pay grade. He's asking $650 for that one and even that's more than I want to spend. For what I'll be using one for the lack of brakes isn't a big deal and split rims don't bother me none. For filancial reasons I may be better off building my own trailer using the back...

Is this a M101? Data tag is missing

He took more pictures for me today. The floor is looking soft in spots and will need replacing, IMO. Are these trailers put together in a way that replacing the floor is straight forward? Unless it's pretty cheap I may have to pass on it.

Is this a M101? Data tag is missing

I think the guy I know made them when he first bought the trailer. Has a small farm but don't think he used it much. If he wants too much for it I may wait till one comes up at a close GP auction where I can get one with the correct sides and bows. I'm finding the older I get the more I...

Is this a M101? Data tag is missing

Thanks. He's a few hours away from me and not knowing I didn't want to make a drive and find it too big. Now to get more pics so we can get to a price.

Is this a M101? Data tag is missing

A guy I know has a trailer I'm considering buying for my M1008 but the tag has been removed and some other tag added by a PO. What model is this, or is this enough to ID it?

    M1008 dragged home today...

I called Diesel Care this morning and explained the situation to their service department. She asked if I was sure it wasn't an injector problem so I explained why it wasn't and what I had found in my testing. She said as soon as I sign the warranty email that she'd send a new pump would be on...

    m1010 Stalling/ Wont go over 5mph

A low pressure/vacuum gauge is what I use, old school tune gauge usually used for pre-80's cars and trucks on a hose at the filter outlet. A lot of other options available as long as it's for low pressure. A gauge for modern fuel injected engines won't be accurate. Even 1/2 psi will produce a...

    m1010 Stalling/ Wont go over 5mph

If the new electric pump is rated for 4-7 psi it may be at it's low end. Check your fuel pressure after the filter befor the IP. I think the TM states you need a minimum of 2 psi before the IP. Possible it isn't keeping up with the IP?

    M1008 dragged home today...

Yep, I ohm'd from the IP to negative on the front battery and several other places, good ground. That was my first thought thinking the nuts were making a dirty contact and a new gasket. From the blade for the cut off to ground there's nothing, should be some resistance.

    New 6.2L Rebuild, Won't start

Seems your pump came from the same place as mine, verify that your fuel cut off is actually working, listen for the clicks when you connect the pink wire. Just installed mine today and the cut off is NFG.

What tweaks me the most despite their warranty is most likely looking at another week without a truck waiting on a simple part, or worse, sending this pump back to get another on a round trip. Could have spent $600 at a local shop, if I would have had that much to blow.

    M1008 dragged home today...

New pump made it yesterday so I installed it today. Got everything bled up to the IP and won't ya know the friggin fuel shut off appears to be not working correctly! I'm furious right about now! Double checked to be sure it's getting voltage to it and it is. With the key on and touching the wire...

    M1008 dragged home today...

Have to admit I do have the Green Bug lol. But yeah, I did buy it to haul firewood but also interested in being able to keep stuff dry other times like if I'm hauling lumber or shopping. I was going to put an aluminum cap on my other truck but never got around to it. I kinda like the utility of...

    M1008 dragged home today...

I didn't think they started the no gasket trick till the early 90's, maybe that was a gasser time period. I bought a new GM crate engine last year and still had gaskets, although glued on like there was no tomorrow. Don't remember the manufacture date but it was in the late 80's some time. I...

    M1008 dragged home today...

It never showed up using CUCV M1008 or CUCV M1009. It finally showed up searching CUCV relay. I don't know why my search results would be different unless it adjusts based on my search history. NAPA stocks them so I will get one through them so I don't have to wait on shipping. I get a bit...
