I started my M1009 and it sounded like a circular saw. I turned the key off and it was still making that sound. I popped the hood and by the time I got it opened the sound had stopped. There was small amount of smoke coming from the starter and it smelled a little like burnt rubber or plastic...

I mounted mine to the bumper and hooked up a cheap light ($2) I got from a parts store. I tied the license plate light into one of the taillights.

I changed the hoses fluid and filter when I got my 1009 and that's where mine shifts.

Don't the 1009's and 1008's have different gearing?

That's about where mine shifts. Luckily the speed limits are 45 or 50 on the island.

Does anybody in southern AL have an M101 trailer for sale? Also, how fast can you pull one? Somebody told me you're not supposed to pull them faster than 30mph. He didn't say why, but he's been know to make stuff up.

I don't know much about the deuces, but greetings from Orange Beach. Thank your friend for his service and thank you for wanting to do something nice for him while he's away. I didn't have the funds for a deuce, but I got my brother the ar15 he always wanted while he way away in Iraq.
