What's really neat about that bus is that someone already has converted it to a Chevy small block and the heads are off of it right now - probably still bolted to the drive train. Someone could be driving that thing next week with some new tires and another running 350! I should have asked the...
This is a page from my 1984-87 CUCV Parts & Illustration Catolog which shows the fuel pump and replacement parts but does not provide a part number for the check valve itself. It looks as though the check valve comes with the fuel pump but I am sure there's a replacement part number somewhere...
All it takes is a slight roll and a pop of the clutch to start my deuce so the best way to keep your truck from theft is to prevent fuel from reaching the I.P.
More photos that I could not get in the first post. Anyone know what this is worth about now? I have only seen things like this in Geographic magazines.
While we were up in Powder Springs Georgia looking over an M1010 that was for sale we came across this interesting WWII relic that I could not find a categorie for in the forum. The pictures tell part of the story. According to the person who owns this thing, it had a 400 Chevy transplant and...
KENNY!!!!! Thanks for the link to the info about the bus! I think it can be restored very easily but the original motor has been replaced with a small block chevy. If you decide to buy the bus Kenny, let me know and I'll go with you for the retrieval. Alan
We made a run over to see another M1010 (not a Shark though) in Powder Springs that Lavarok contemplated buying; it's good that we didn't considering having towed the Shark home after it quit running just before hitting the Florida border. The person who has this M1010 also has a very...
The first photo was taken right after I got the Shark under control - when the tire blew the ambulance immediately took a hard right and I went from the far right hand lane across the other three southbound lanes and finally managed to bring the truck to a stop. I got out of the vehicle with my...
Something with the fuel system - either bad diesel or blockage of some sort in the fuel system. Lavarok should be posting something about the truck shortly.
Just got back from a very long retrieval in Georgia with Lavarok and the deuce we picked up turned out to be the "tow vehicle" during our trip back to Florida. I'll let Lavarok tell the story! Just one of the photos for now. Thank God for the medium towbar and a great running deuce too!
I have to do a 6" lift on my M1008 and looking for a thread that covered that. Planning on putting H1 rims & tires on my truck, hopefully before we get our first hurricane this season here in Central Florida. Also need to obtain the 2" spacers for the front and rear. One person I ran into...
Here's a scan of the literature that I bought from an Ebay auction. I wanted one of these until Faye wrote her thoughts right on the pamphlet. I did find one of these for sale in Alaska on Craig's List for around $2500.00 or so - very reasonable considering one is almost ready to top $10K on...
Love to have both trucks in my driveway! It's a long way from Florida for a retrieval!
By the way, where should this thread have been placed to make it legal Kenny?
