I use Rotella 15W40 in all my diesels.Dexron III; 80-90 nonsynthetic. Decided on nonsynthetic in M998 due to age, military lube, and storys about leaks after switching to synthetics. However, have always used synthetics in H1 since new. Also used non-Fram, more expensive oil filters...pick...
According to the Rhino web site you should not need extension for M1101/02 trailers. The clearance on my H1 looks fine but no off road use. Again, check with Rhino to be sure, they have to know.
If you can siphon some off it will be less messy. I followed the TM when pulling the tank: TM 9-2320-280-20-2, starting on page 3-36. These are available on this site although I have the old paper ones. The drawings in the TM are quite helpful. This a 2 person task! You need a "soldier B"...

I used the one sold by "Those Military Guys" They are vendors on his site. I installed it back of battery box as there was a hole already there. Easy to install; it cuts off ground so handy when you are doing anything electrical. Disadvantage is that it is in passenger footwell. Cost was...
Hole in pin is about .191 A 3/16x 1.5" seems to fit. CUCVRUS is the expert on this "field expedient" You can buy a selection at Fastenal here in the states. Always cheaper to buy a quantity. Only problem I see is they are hardened and a blow with a cold chisel will break them.
