I only use it when backing the trailer in my driveway. I don't think (at least I hope not) that anyone would want to permanently drive around with the pin in a working system.

By the way... I picked up my pintle hook and bar from State Trailer Supply on Redwood Rd. and about 3600 So. for around $77 bucks. Then got bolts from Home Depot for around $5. I also had to extend the safety chains a bit. Hit me up if you need any tips.

Got the safety chains extended. Ordered the lock pin for the surge brake. Found a few manuals online. Found out my FSA will allow me to purchase a nice M17 medic bag. Moving right along. Thanks guys.
