It's a Chevrolet Hy-brid. You can tell by the bow tie on the front bumper.
That winch debacle is where somebody tried pulling the truck and snapped the shear pin and then had to make the nice bow tie design to get back to the station. Probably better left broken than to have a grade 8 bolt...
Right beside the house. I don't have any neighbors.
Fences make for better neighors. In some applications, a well outfitted deuce with cargo cover can be considered a privacy fence.
I've been running 100% waste trans oil after filtering thru a 5 micron then a 1 micron bag filter that I encased in 4 inch pvc. It screws atop a 55 gallon drum and I just purge the trans flush machine at the shop thru it. Works great and the stuff burns fine. No hard start problems or anything...
I've been running straight 100% used auto trans fluid for about a year now with no problems. I filter it with magnets and then run it thru a filter I built out of CPVC which has a 5 micron bag inside a 1 micron bag. I have had zero problems starting, driving or anything else. The only problem I...
I rock crawl a lot in my Wrangler. Off roading with the Deuce is probably a 3rd or 4th part of the design envelope. Ground clearence is one thing, but no lockers, no p.s. are just some of the others. The most important thing is there IS NO ROLL OVER PROTECTION!
I'd crack that problem before I...
I have been running a 60/40 mix of 60% diesel and 40% waste auto trans fluid in my '85 VW Golf. I run 100% trans fluid in the deuce with no problem. I collect it in 55 gal drums. I hang a couple of magnets in it and let it sit for about two weeks. I have had no problems with smoke, starting or...
I have worked for a chevy dealer for 25 years. I had a lot of customers who had 6.2 diesels who used to blend some waste oil. I seem to remember about 10% waste oil working ok. I would use much more than that with a CUCV.
fuel
I work for a car dealer too. I have been scarffing up all the waste transmission fluid and burning it for fuel. I've run up to about 80% waste trans fluid to a mix of gasoline and diesel. It starts fine, runs fine and temps are the same on the pyrometer as straight diesel. Even has the...
CARC is loaded with stuff called Isocyanates. It allows the paint to harden so that it has the protection of the stuff spray in bedliners is made of. If you breathe it you can get sensitized to it and it can kill you. Which also applies to the dust when you sand it.
I painted mine last year...
Mine did the same thing when I picked it up from GL when I shut it down at the first stop. That starter relay that is bolted to the engine block was the culprit. I bought a new one from Memphis and it failed within a week. Replaced it again and it failed again. I bypassed it rely on the...
I'd get a couple of the filter bags and run it through them first. I just loaded up on about a 5% gasoline and 95% auto trans fluid cocktail and have no problems. Starts easily and runs great on the road. My FDC is still hooked up but I mixed the gasoline in only to thin the mixture down so that...
10-4 on that. Unlike a 12 volt car system, this one will flash the indicator bulb even if the tail light or turnsignal bulb is bad. You might check the ground on the box but, you probably need one.
Assuming your batteries are good, you can bypass that relay and wire directly to the relay on top of the starter. If the relay on the block is the problem, that should isolate it.
90% used transmission fluid, 10% gasoline to thin it out and then I put in a bottle of BG 244k for conditioner. Starts right up cold or hot and rolls on down the road.
Much, much cheaper than buying diesel.
