It sounds like you might have pushed the window out and left the top part of the channel in the frame still mounted to the truck. I recently did both sides of mine and the upper hinges were mounted with 1/4 inch screws. I think there are about 6 or seven per glass.
I have made the cork wedge from a cork valve cover gasket I had left over. I have also just used silicone without any problems. When I originally pulled mine apart it had the cork wedges.
I didn't even notice the "EUC" required on the one I just won from GL but alas, it is there at the bottom of the auction. Maybe I can use it by fall.
Oh well, back to watching how long it takes paint to dry.
Hey Beetle,
Look, I bought my first Deuce back in November from GL. My truck had 50,000 miles on it. For a diesel that is nothing. Everyone has their own opinion of the multifuel but the truth is, it's just like any other engine. If somebody changes the oil in it regularly, it will go several...
Somebody elaborate on the sprag issue. I thought only the front axle shift was sprag or no sprag. Are there different transmissions in the M35a2?
Update: Trans is out of the truck. The synchro hub in the center of the 2nd gear sheared out of the gear. Looks like it was just twisted right out of...
I helped my buddy put the cargo top on his M36 and it got hung in 2nd gear going back to work. He's pulled the top off the trans and it sounds like the syncro wadded up and chewed up 2nd gear. Here is the question: Can you take it apart and fix it in the truck or do you have to drop the trans...
I'm helping a friend install a bed cover on his M36. The front right stake on the bed is about 3 inches back from the corner. When you set the front bow in, it is caddy cornered because of the side stake arrangement. Do you get another side rack stake to put in that front corner? This is a...
When I got my truck from the DRMO it had a bad starter solenoid. I replaced that one only to have problems keeping the nut tight on the 24v wire from the starter switch. Eventually, that post pulled out and I replaced it again. Now, the newest one has gone south. I used locktite when I put the...
I replaced one on mine a few weeks back. I rattled my self nuts with my 1/2 inch impact and assorted cheater bars. After calling "calf rope", I borrowed a 1 inch impact from my truck shop and knocked them right off. I would not try it without one. In fact, the 1 inch is now standard equipment...
General Motors had a problem with the injectors leaking on the DuraMax diesels. They are mounted under the valve covers to the head and would leak diesel fuel into the crankcase. I've seen hundreds that came in with fuel dripping off the complete frame and suspension along with a nice sheen...
Well, finally got back to this brake light issue. Garbee was right about the bolts. I removed the housing and brushed the star washers and bolts and presto... the junk works. UNBELIEVABLE!
I wanted to post the fix cause I hate threads that don't end with a solution.
GMA said they have a 12 ft cover and a 14 ft cover. Can anybody tell me who the competition is?
Thanks for the pics. I knew somebody had to make a cover.
I don't know if he'll get on here or not. He just broke the throttle spring coming down a hill about 25 miles north of the Tenn/Kentucky line. I sent him to Advance for a replacement. I bought mine there and replaced it last night.
He won this truck on GL about a month and a half ago. It's a...
