Great tip on creating a quick release for the doors. I just put my doors back on and it slows the process down. If your unit is like mine and came with a solar panel on the top cover, consider a quick release connector (if not already installed) for wiring to the solar charger.

I figured you were joking about that generator on trailer with the shelter. I'm working on getting them side by side on trailers so I can put the generator to use while building the project.
Picked up a 2007 Applied Companies DRASH Shelter Transport Trailer in Yermo from GP on Friday. I'd been looking at these trailers the past few weeks, not for the generator or the ECU, but as a potential trailer to mount my S250 shelter on. I've yet to see anyone use the trailer this way so I'll...
That looks great, nice job.
I use the rustoleum camo cans on trucks and trailers. For shelters or large surface areas I use a sprayer with various spray tips.
The panel modification with solar controller looks awesome, I'm about to make something very similar on my S250 shelter. Something about pushing buttons and getting to check voltages, PV input, etc. that makes things more fun.
Awesome to hear. No highways for me. It's a 6 mile drive to even reach the nearest county maintained road. Locals drive UTVs, tractors, and non-op trucks in my area all the time. Since I've had the humvee, my UTV gets used for trips to the mailbox.
I'm assuming these were antenna mounts (the big shackles on the side of the S250). Looks like it would have been pretty heavy and somehow re positioned on the swivel seen in the last photo. If anyone comes across what this looked like in the field please post or help me better understand its...
+1 on the carb cleaner.
If you have not already done so, get the manual (it's on this site) and read up on leaks and maintenance.
I have no formal training, yet I've found these units are fairly easy to work with, especially with the help you can get here.
I have the same model and she leaks...
Alright, I'm thanking tobyS and his "Why Bother" post for the motivation for this.

People post photos of their humvees and all the cool mods and restorations they've done. They talk about getting them street legal, getting...
Got all non essential (to me) cables removed and on to the "what did this do" phase.
There's a micro switch on the door but not sure if it is supposed to turn lights on when I open the door or power something when I close it.
There's mounting brackets near the floor and one appears to be for...
Yup, sorry for the confusion, I have a small 24v charge controller in the box as well, that way the pulsetech has a power source when parked out of the sun. Seeing the photos inspires me to clean up my battery box.
Thanks for posting the photos. My solar controller is mounted in the same box, but I've modified the wiring so I can quick connect/disconnect to a solar panel on the carport/garage roof. It's an extra step, as I have to remember to disconnect before driving, but batteries remain topped off while...
Aside from checking here, I'll 2nd keeping an eye on Craigslist. I've seen tires and other MV parts posted at times. Sold some of my unused surplus on CL as well.
I had a surplus of M16 storage racks and experimented with mounting one in the rear area, but it had zero practical value. The racks do come in handy for making mods though.
