I looked at the pics for a few minutes and didn't really notice a ton of dents like you mentioned.....The great thing about white, and it's easy to spot fix with a standard white from a rattle can, something to think about....
That truck would look awesome with black bumpers/black grill...
I think those wheels are the 8 lug version of the rally wheel...would look even cooler with the beauty rings, i'd like to have a set, never come across a any at a junkyard either so thier VERY uncommon around here. (the deep dish ones)
The interior of the truck is excellent, I noticed right...
I use synthetic wheel bearing grease in the adjusters, and have never had aproblem with the adjustment that should occur when you backup. I make it a point to back into my driveway, sometimes it's easier to back into a parking space at the store, and if the pedal feels a little weak i'll back up...
I would not drive it, it can completely fail.....the last little bit of seal holding the fluid in does not have anything to push against and could "pop" the next time you hit the brakes, serious danger....:o
Altenator 1 is drivers side, a good way to remember is to think about the "process". Alt 1 (drivers) is where it all begins.....1 goes in to alt 2 (Pass) where it is roughly doubled.....same with batt 1 (front)...starts 12 volt and roughly doubles at the end of 2 (rear) ......maybe this will...
calibrate.....? dont you just put a trigger on the block ? i've been told most pick-up/triggers on a diesel are magnetic....the tach should have come with instructions unless i'm missing something, shouldn't be much different than a tach on a regular gas motor....except lac o'spark....:)
My 1008 sounds like rocks in a concrete mixer at startup and smooths out to barely have that "diesel" sound when warm, I need to put a tach in mine, the speed limit on most of the roads I drive is 55 and with 285's it sounds pretty wound up already.....so much so that I dont pass the idiots like...
14 bolt corporate....not right off hand, the spec is probably in the tm's under the resourse tab, I go as tight as I can....dont take my word for that......welcome to the site!
The fuel problem is a good possibility too, if that is the case than it shouldn't do damage to the engine to run it in the driveway long enough to perform a few checks...:grd:
depends how involved you want to get....you could pull the oil pan and check for a plugged pickup screen or pull a valve cover and see if oil oozes/squirts while running, or you could drain out about half of the oil and add tranny fluid or marvel and run for a few minutes and see if you get a...
I always figured that little things like push button glow plugs and holding the gas to the correct position(and other little specifics of old trucks) would allow enough time to get the pistol out and ask questions.....
