    M923 Bobber project

I'm actually finishing up the wheels/tires swap and need to bolt the rear shock mounts on before I can drive it again. I can tell you pulling 5 395s off rims swapping beadlock inserts and remounting 5 16.00's on those rims is a pretty big task for 2 people (me and my dad). I plan to drive it a...

    USMC 5 Tons

The USMC beds have 2 piece bed sides that are bit taller than the standard 923. I think someone already said they were made that way for the USMC's containers they use trucks to haul. Pics are tan ISO truck and green is my standard 923

    USMC 5 Tons

I will agree though that if you see it has the ISO bed there is a good chance it is a USMC truck, but I have seen them with ISo bed without lockers also. I always look for the tag on the driver side door warning you the vehicle is equipped with locking differentials.

M931A2 in need of pto/wetkit and duals!

bridge truck wheels require spacers to run but are meant exactly for the 14.00r20's so they would work for that. They do put you over width for road use (I understand your using it on farm but wasnt sure if it ever hit pavement). If you are looking to make it so truck has low ground pressure you...

    M923 Bobber project

well I got to work on truck today and got it back together with bed cut down and welded back up. I cut off the front header and re welded it in new spot instead of cutting bed twice and re welding floor together, also by doing this I only had to cut the excess bed off the front. I ended up...

MTVR wheels adapted to 5 ton

I'm not really sure , I wouldnt see why not if you add the valve from a ctis wheel and maybe get a longer stud or two to hold it on since the factory one might be too short.

MTVR wheels adapted to 5 ton

Has anyone successfully adapted a set of mtvr rims to a 5 ton bolt pattern? I almost bought a set of wheels/tires sight unseen and luckily I asked for a pic of rim face to verify they were hemtt's (16.00r20 tires) but they are mtvrs. I have searched around and havent seen much about these wheels...

Contemplating a Bobber! To do or not to do that is the question!

I would be tempted if I were you to just run the 4x4 trans and transfer case, forgoing the stock transfer. Its pretty easy to flip the front pumpkin to standard rotation and makes getting parts alot easier if anything should ever break. I had a set of adapters made that took standard 1350...

    new from MD

Cool good to see more of the MV's in general area I would like to attend one of the get togethers someday soon. update on truck is I got bed cut down and the header slid into new spot and tacked into place for today, hope tomorrow to get welding finished and get bed in place.

    5-ton rims and Goodyear MVT

The only way you could run 395's duals is if you put them on bridge truck wheels and then you would be over width for on road use I believe. I had thought about running 4 of them on stock wheels like deuce guys do but decided against it for a couple reasons, tire wear due to being on a too...

Bobbing a 5 ton with ABS

I just finished bobbing my 923 down and had same questions with abs but like stated above, you keep the axle that has the sensors, plug both control valves to the sensors in same order they were originally and then plug the ports that went to the other axle. I also had to fiddle around with...

turbo kit from eastern surplus, anyone have one?

Yeah I agree to a certain point patracy and I personally dont plan on cranking my truck up more than turbo and little extra fuel, but with a heavy truck its easy to get a load on it and egt's start to climb. I have a 2.4 mercedes diesel samurai I plan to turbo and same goes for it as yours, for...

Contemplating a Bobber! To do or not to do that is the question!

glad it is coming together for you, I also wish I was closer to you to get that 4x4 trans from ya. The 2wd ones are plentiful around here but 4x4 ones have been snatched up.

turbo kit from eastern surplus, anyone have one?

I really think our engines should be reliable up to about 650K and if you put that type of miles on a MV you are doing pretty good. I would say patracy has it pretty much dead on most you can try to get reliably from the 250 is 300-320 range, if you are looking for more a 400hp 855 cummins will...

    M923 Bobber project

Yeah I had looked into get a big rig bumper and just painting over the chrome (one of the larger drop down style ones) but they dont have much structure to them and I want the bumper to be usable not just for looks. i also thought it would help truck not look too tall once the 53's are on if...
