I purchased a deuce from a restorer that had the same shade of light green on it. Light green was one of the colors included in the "Verdant" color scheme back when there were 4 color camo designs. It you look at the Aervoe website (...
redwards80:
Welcome to the site. There are a number of people in the Grand Valley area that share your interest in retired MVs and there are a variety of olive drab vehicles in and around Grand Junction.

Your project looks great. Were you satisfied with the fit and finish of the replacement tub? Does it seem to be as heavy a gauge metal as the original? Was there much drilling and fitting in order to fit the tub on your frame?
Breach27:
It would be nice to see some pictures of the wheels once they are on your truck. The only one piece wheels I've seen on the SS site came from Long's wheels. The Marsh website seems to have quite a variety of options from which to select. I was wondering if they guarantee that their...

I don't know about the horn. I think the lights are functioning correctly. Erik's Military Surplus sells an adapter for 82.50 that connects to the main light switch. It allows the use of the front yellow running lights when in the service drive mode...
Welcome

Welcome from another Grand Valley resident. There are a number of folks in the area with MVs. I've even seen a few deuces around town. There is one near 12th and Patterson in Grand Junction that has been for sale lately. I hope you find one you like. You may find that given...
Behr Paint Formula
As was mentioned in a recent painting thread, Home Depot can also match to the Federal Color standard. I recently asked for some 34079. The Rapco ad has the federal numbers listed for all of the colors they have available. It seems like you could use their number for tan and...
Welcome from another Colorado resident. If you haven't already checked it out, you should visit the website for the military vehicle collectors of Colorado. They have a lot of events scheduled.
Hood Handles
The local TruValue hardware stores carry a square U-bolt that looks very much like the hood handles I've seen. It even includes a backing plate. I think it is about 5" wide. It is made from 3/8" stock. The photo shows it next to one of the frame handles.

Last winter I purchased the battery tender model that serves two 12 volt batteries at a time. I think it was around $75 dollars. My M35A2 is in storage all winter. I just hooked one bank of the battery tender to each battery. Just to be cautious I disconnected the cable between the two...

Welcome from another Grand Valley resident. There is a fairly strong military vehicle presence in the area. You shouldn't have much difficulty finding a vehicle when you return to the state.
wheel weight plus extra lug nuts
Maccus:
I tried to balance a wheel that was missing the counter weight by just using 8 lug nuts. It involved doubling the nuts where the wheel weight should have been. Without the counterweight, it just doesn't seem to be enough. The auction site was the only...
Air-o-matic
This site was referenced in a recent post. I have not tried to order anything from them or talked to anyone who has.
Air-O-Matic Power Steering
Hooty481:
I was trying to avoid breaking the wheel down in order to balance it. Since the other five wheels have the counterweight, I was trying to be consistent. However, the weights seem to be in short supply.
Wheel Weights
One wheel on my A3 came without the counterweight. Does anyone know who sells them? Erik's website says they are out of stock. I've checked the websites for Saturn Surplus, Memphis Equipment, and TNJ Murray. None of them list them. I'm guessing the weights wouldn't be a regular...
Anyone Balance the Rear Wheels?
Excuse me if this is too obvious a question. Since adding 7 lug nuts to the front wheels helps to balance things out, has anyone used the same fix on the rear axles?I was wondering if there is any noticeable benefit?
Memphis Equipment sells kits to convert A3 axles to A2. They seem relatively pricey. The front axle kit is $675. Each rear axle kit is $275. I don't know if they would do what you're wanting to do.
