Are the Westfolk's filter kits sold through a web site? His you tube videos are attributed to "CimmaronWestfolk" neither of those names showed up when I searched the SS classified ads.
Thanks.
When I made a purchase from Saturn a few months ago, the only clear lens they had left was red. I was hoping to get some of the other clear lens colors (amber, blue, green) to have on hand.
Dash Lens
Lex:
When I called today with the part number, the gentleman at Tiem quoted me a price of $24 for one lens. Is that what you had to pay? It seems steep compared to what Saturn Surplus charges for the basic red ones.

Similarity to A2?
Compared to the A2, does the A3 require that you let the truck idle for 5 minutes before driving and then again for 5 minutes before letting it shut down?
Thanks.

Incredilion:
It would be nice to hear if you are satisfied with the work they did for you after you get the chance to see and drive your new purchase. It would be nice to have someone reliable in that area to pick-up and service vehicles.
Thanks.
Locking door handles
Maynard83:
One of the SS members, robr did an extensive upgrade to a bobbed deuce. (His description of the build should show up in a search) He said he had purchased several different door handles. He settled on a model from TrueValue hardware. When I purchased some this...
Custom wheels
The Long's wheel website makes it sound as though they keep a design record of the wheels they build for customers. Does anyone have pictures of the wheels they've purchased there? It would be nice to see and order a wheel that has already been designed for a customer's M35A2...
Sound level change?
JasonS:
That modification looks slick. It would be interesting to see what kind of noise reduction you end up with inside the cab from routing the exhaust to the back of the truck.

Bumper Stencils
Carnac:
Any help you can provide will be appreciated. I was given a photo of my deuce before it was repainted by the previous owner. I would like to order some stencils from Rick Larsen to repaint the bumper numbers. The problem is that I don't know if the vertical lines are...
Could it be a variety of forest green?
One of the articles on camo paint schemes mentions that there was a period of time during which the deuce would have come from the factory with a base coat of forest green. The additional camo colors were then added once the truck arrived at it's intended...
Finding light green...
Bob: If you don't mind mixing colors from different suppliers, Aervoe makes a 34151 light green. It is available in a gallon or a spray can. The can would give you the chance to see if you like the match. When I purchased my truck it had forest green (34079) black and...
Cab noise level with Walker muffler
The idea of an audio recording was mentioned earlier today. I used a Canon digital camera in the movie mode to make a brief recording. It was shot with the passenger window closed and the engine at about 800 rpm. The audio meter is recording the volume...
Another db experiment
MO MV man:
I did a muffler installation this week using a Walker RV muffler (21470) from Summit racing. I used a Radio Shack sound meter to measure the levels before and after. It may have a different scale or different sensitivity than the instrument you used. I did...
Arlyn:
It seems like a small world on SS. It's good to hear from a Western Slope native. I've been on Glade Park for eight years and have really enjoyed it. I want to thank you and all the other folks on this thread for the warm welcome.
Jonathan:
I'm afraid a muffler or an expensive aviation intercom is the only way I'll ever be able to carry on a conversation in this truck.:p It's nice to hear from an MVCC member. I just joined the organization after getting the truck. I hope to be able to attend the August meeting.
I recently joined SS and have been lurking up to now. I just acquired my first MV. It is a 1977 M35A2C w/w. I purchased the truck from a gentleman in Idaho who restores military vehicles. I made the purchase at the Idaho Military Vehicle rally hosted at the Idaho Motor Pool. I was told that the...
