I got one of the frost plug style heaters a few weeks ago, but have yet to install it, so thank you for the install info! I wish it would stop snowing so I could get it put in!
Yeah I 100% agree that this would probably cause more problems then it's worth, but it's an intriguing idea. I wish I had a beater truck to fool around with it on. I think it would be pretty neat to start and warm your truck up from inside the house. It would be mighty impressive haha.
Has anyone thought about installing a remote starter in a 900 series truck? I was thinking it would be possible. I'm not sure if there is 24v remote starters, but I have a 12v circuit that I could use to power the unit...and then maybe use a relay that trips with 12v and outputs the 24v. Not...
Yep, I did the upper and lower. I just didn't get as many pictures as I should have, I get too into the projects to stop and take them. After the rebuild, the dryer works great. I would always rebuild the whole thing, it's definitely worth it.
I had the exact same problem with my truck. You need to reset your fuel shutoff linkage. Your emergency cutoff switch was most likely pulled. It's a simple fix.
I actually need a gear for one of my lights as well. It must be a common problem with this model. Mine were brand new and only lasted a few months before one stripped out on me. If anyone has them I would be interested in purchasing a couple as well.
Great advice. I just did one a couple weeks ago by myself and I neglected to buy a new clamp. Big mistake! What a PITA to reuse the old one, especially with the buggered up thread!
I have a M923A2, and I don't have a CDL and Im not going to. I use it for fun and have it registered Historically, and everyone I have talked to said I do not need one. Plausible deniability.
It is cranking but not firing. It cranks fine. If it isn't really hot, like after a short drive, I can get it to fire after three or four long cranks. If its after a long drive and the engine is really warmed up, it will crank and crank and then it will fire and die. It sounds like a fuel issue...
Hi, I need to bounce a problem I am having off of everyone. When my M923a2 is cold, it starts right up like a top. After I drive it and warm it up, then shut it off, it gives me a really hard time starting...sometimes so hard I can't get it to. I'm not sure where this problem lies. Could it be a...
Thanks for the replies. I did order both of the kits from Ryder. I removed my air dryer after work today, and started taking it apart in my shop. Man that thing was nasty inside, I'm really glad I decided to dismount the entire unit and clean it up. There are a bunch of tubercles and other junk...
Thanks, I did notice there was an upper and lower kit after I posted. The filter shown on the kit I linked and the one Ryder carries is the same one I have on my truck. I guess I'll just order it and give it a shot, seeing as I don't see any other rebuild kits.
