I have a A2 and love it. It will haul what you can load and pulls great behind a 3/4 ton pick up. Can not speak about the A3. It was set up for H-1 and the track width and height are set up for it. Either way, I do not think that you will be disappointed.

A five tom wheel is slightly smaller. The box seat will give you a little room. It just does not get a whole lot better that it is. I am a big guy as well and feel your pain.

I am doing this job and decided to spend a few more $ and go with the silicone boots. They should hold up better than the natural rubber. We will see over time.

1 - If my slobber tube did not slobber, I am happy! I do not think there is a problem.
2 - Pressure test the cooling system and the cap and look for loss of pressure. Might just be the cap not holding the pressure back and smelling the overflow.
3 - The air system on most trucks does leak down...
Not sure but I think that the brakes would be applied twice as hard with 24 volts going to them. I would stick with a way to keep the voltage below 14 at the brake magnet. What about wiring the 2 brakes in series as each would use half of the voltage?

Welcome to the site. The 1008 is basicly the same as a civilian Chevy truck. Parts to make the swap are avaiable at any junk yard. I have found that it is much easier to go from a standard to an automatic but it has been done by many folks. Anything is possible with enough time, energy , and...
My truck was set up like this also. From what I have been told, it was a field mod to raise the staves around 16 - 18 inches to allow for more headroom. My tarp was shredded when I bought the truck but it did look just like that . They also added 3/16 aluminum side walls and bolted that to...
Well I am a long way from ND but I do have a Pinz. I will be happy to answer any questions that you have. Send me a PM and I will do my best to give you the info you are looking for.

I was watching that one also. It was not that far to my parents home and figured if I won it and it had issues, I could leave it there until work was done. Then get her back to FL when I could.
Welcome to the site! You do not say what kind of driving you do currently. If I only went a few miles a day, a deuce might work as a daily driver. Drive 50+ and you may want to think about this. I use mine as a toy and enjoy it a lot. I drive 45 miles one way to work through Orlando traffic...
I run the Michelin 395's on my deuce. I was talking with the Michelin rep at work and was asking about pricing on tires. He said that he was fairly sure that Bandag could recap my 395's with a tread patteren that would almost be the same as what came on it. Cost would be much cheaper than new...
Thanks for sharing this. It is nice to hear a news story that is positive once in a while. I hope to be able to see it when the restoration is complete.
I will be there whenever you decide what the date will be. I have to agree that the Pinz would be a great addition to the shirt Jack! Put me down for 1 XXL and 1 Large.

Wow, how did I miss all of this? Having been to all of the discussed events I can honestly say that I come to the rallies to spend time with people who I have a lot in common with. It really does not matter where it is or how much or how little is provided. My son and I have always had a...
Welcome from Orlando! I am originally from Hot Springs and bought my deuce at Camp Robinson in LR. The MVPA has a great show up at Petit Jean Mountian in the fall. Most of the locals go to that show and it is a great place to meet up with some of the SS members and check out all of the...
