I'd have to say that the WisDOT folks evidently DON'T understand the Federal regs... obviously ANYTHING built before '68 - civvy or MV - is non-compliant?
Neo - I raised the question before, but don't know that it was answered in regards to who has a burr in their saddle in WisDOT.
Granted, I have zero skin in the game, but misguided legislation has this nasty ability to encroach on other states at times...

I think the revised posting rules are fine...

The challenge with Historic/Antique/etc., tags is that you typically are limited to parade use, car shows, an occasional joy ride, etc. Too restrictive for what these MV's can do & were designed to do.

Check your IP & have it set to factory specs. Turning up the IP on a weakened/wounded engine just exacerbates the problems & helps find the weak link in the chain faster...
