Can you convert the M-80 mic to work with a CB?

I have figured out (I think) the first two, the other two I am not sure about. The mics were taken apart but the Cobra mic is a confusing circuit board.

    On abandoning your vehicle:

Skinny, sounds like you have everything that you need. I have had the same 73 C20 3/4T Chevy since it rolled off the line. I still drive it today. The carb went bad once in all that time. Unfortunately I was out at the time and I was still able to fix it with limited tools. You said: Before...

Can you convert the M-80 mic to work with a CB?

In my OP I forgot to add the specifics of the mics I am trying to mod. I have a CB that is the Cobra 4-pin type and I want to transfer the Cobra mic connector onto the end of the M-80 C/U mic/handset. I don't know which wires from the mil set would go to the mic connector and where. Please help...

    On abandoning your vehicle:

OK, some of you are blessed with vehicles that cannot break down. Others cannot fathom actually traveling into the woods without a wingman. I will tell you though that you don't have to be 100 miles from a phone or parts store to be "stranded". I have become stuck in the sticks with my hunting...

Can you convert the M-80 mic to work with a CB?

I have converted the LS-671/VRC Speaker to plug into my CB. Since it has a nifty little mic clip in front, I thought I would like to convert the mic that hangs there (or could) to work with the Uniden (4pin) CB I am using. Has anyone heard of this?

    On abandoning your vehicle:

I have, so far,[knock wood] been very lucky about not having to abandon my vehicle to seek help (walk out). Last time we had known issues was in my friend's Jeep with a stick, so I reminded him to park facing downhill, if his starter would not crank in the morning we could roll start it- it...

what do you use for outback comms?

Wow, lots of opinions on what is best here. I did primarily want to be able to get help incase of a breakdown. I wiould hate to have to leave my vehicle and expensive gear while I walk out for help. Having said that, a breakdown way well mean having no juice to run a mounted radio. So in...

what do you use for outback comms?

I have been drawing hunting tags for some remote places in my state. I have been considering a SAT phone rental... just in case. Recently I read about the FCC or some other agency refusing to prosecute an unlicensed radio operator for using a VHF radio. He apparently used it call for help...

    Park M1009 faced uphill= hard/No start

I did find the culprit a few months after posting this. The fuel line above the fuel pump had a slice in it. I have no idea how it got there; but it was allowing air in, which because there was no longer a vacuum in the fuel line created the drainback condition. If you can't get the rig to...

    Tools on the road

RED_506, I don't have AAA for my auto or homeowners, I just heard about the best tow coverage from the tow driver as I settled in for one of the costlier rides I have taken. He said that they did get calls for tows where the driver had just bought it over the phone. Impressed, I called AAA the...

    Tools on the road

:ditto: If you can't get it going with field repairs, have a good towing policy. I learned from the last tow truck driver to haul me home: AAA has the best tow coverage. AND... You can call or go online, buy the premium tow package that gives you one 200 mile tow and multiple 100 tows annually...

No crank starter, only loud clack this may be your fix

Yes, I did add a thicker shim today. It went pretty quick; taking less than 15 minutes. It is now shimmed at 1/16".

No crank starter, only loud clack this may be your fix

After over a year of intermittent Clacking when I turn the key in my Blazer, I have finally learned what may be the ailment for so many of us. I tried replacing: starters (3), Starter solenoids (4), Starter Relays- after the Doghead Mod (4), most of the ignition circuit wiring- including the...

Engine Oil used in TH400 instead of Dexron

My transmission used to slip in most gears. I put a new filter in it and it was no better. Then I drained it and used F-type transmission fluid- my wife's Cougar uses it. I have not had any more slippage. From a dead stop on a hill, I can put in in drive/rev and it goes. Try it.

    Hi/Lift Jack Placement?

I like the fender mounted jack. I would weld a 1/2" stud to the ribs and then get a locking lug nut to fit the middle rib so that it has to be unlocked to remove. You probably want to find the locking lugs first and then match the bolt to it.

    Lubricating Lunette/Pintle?

SO it does not need to freely rotate when held/towed with the military tow hook?

    Lubricating Lunette/Pintle?

I have just re-replaced the pintle Drawbar on my M416. The previous owner cut the ring off, put a standard trailer ball hitch on the remaining stub with 4 bolts. I found a replacement lunette on this site. When I cleaned it up and tightened the spring/nut to spec, the ring hardly budges/rotates...

    No complaints!

Just wanted to post a positive comment for a change. I always seem to come here with problems that I need help with. I am happy to say that I was just outside getting the garbage cans in from the road. My Blazer runs well now that the starter issues have been resolved. I drove it all day with...
