Havent finished the bed yet but am planning on having some time on Sunday. I'm leaning towards the duece but have that rear main seal leak that is causing the clutch to slip a little. Its got a band aid fix right now with some stop leak additive that actually worked and I have the new seal...
Sorry Nathan , I lost track of the thread. Its about 1 1/2 hours to Barstow from here in a regular car so figure 2 1/2 hours in a duece. We could hook up at the 14 fwy/ Sand Cyn Rd.
Mine just did this to me last week. Turned out to be a flat head screw that holds the window frame together worked its way out enough to start digging into the felt channel liner to the point it stopped going up and down. Take the access cover off and there are 4 screws at the bottom of the...
Im about 50 miles south of Bakersfield if you wanted to continue down the 5 and hook up with me or just shoot down the 101 to the 126. There is a guy in Bakerfield who wanted to come to the last one but had truck troubles, I cant remember his name though.
Apparently asking a woman that has been in labor for 24hrs to buy another truck is not the best time if your hoping for her to say yes. We are expecting baby #3 pretty much anytime now, contractions are still 10 minutes apart and doctor says to wait till 5 minutes aprt, if only it had been a...
I dont know what the rating of the forklift was but it did'nt have any problems with the back tires wanting to lift up. I borrowed it from a friend to help my other friend change his motor, a wrecker would have been real nice to have. Ty, what piece of machinery is that in the pic?
RE: Re: RE: Deuce as daily driver?
I parked my VW golf in the garage and have been driving my M1009 for the last month. I'll drive the M35 once a week to work but parking and stop and go traffic on the way home gets old even when its only a 5 mile commute, mine is bobbed and has air assist...
A forklift makes it so much easier. The come along on one end is good advice for tilting the motor and trans as one unit. Only problem we had with the forklift below was its tires are made for nice smooth flat concrete surfaces and it kept getting stuck. We had to make a plywood path for it...
I think its scary enough flat towing a duece with another duece let alone with a vehicle that weighs half as much as the towed vehicle. I would advise against it. The problem is not having any of that 13,500 lbs that your towing tranferred onto the wheels of the towing vehicle. The slightest...
The liner might pull out by hand. On a motor I took apart, 3 of the liners popped right out just by pushing the piston up through the top, you might get lucky.
RE: Re: RE: Barstow, Ca.
I almost started bidding on the M1009's, I had to fight the urge, turn the computer off and walk away. Glad I did'nt unnecessarily drive your prices up. I dont NEED any more trucks, I just want them, like everyone else here.
There was a member on here that pulled with his. He no longer has the duece but I believe he bought it from DMA251 in Washington then drove it back to Cali, used it in some events and sold it. He was a writer for some offroad magazine (JPmagazine?)which has pictures posted online, I wish I...
Great story! Where was the phone call? I could have taken today off no problem. Its good to hear about the other side of Dave that some of us havent seen. I might have to start sellling some junk to save up for an A3! Jon's , Dave's, Mikes and Tony's trucks are truly the cleanest dueces I have...
