The spring perches are part# BRK-ROC-1110-1. Plates are part number BRK-1070-16. I think they are a bargain and I'm very happy with the quality. They took a full 2 weeks to get though. Apparently they make them when you order, although their website doesn't say that anywhere. I couldn't have...
I've been looking at those trying to decide which way to go. I believe the Curt 15530 is a common one used. I'm sure that's easier than what I proposed.
Good suggestion, I hadn't thought of the clearance issue. Technically, I could still unbolt it, but it is quite heavy compaired to the standard class 5 hitch. Thanks.
My Deuce served lastly as an Air Force truck. It has dual pintle hitches on the back. I suppose the lower one was for lower profile trailers, power units, AC units or something of that nature. I know there are several receiver hitch threads floating around, but none seem to show anyone with dual...
I've all but completed my bob since I first posted at #2. The easiest part of the whole deal for me was mounting the trailer springs and mounting the axle. I clamped the springs on and started drilling holes and had them mounted in no time. My springs were bolted the trailer frame, which made...
Over the last three days, I removed my rear suspension, mounted my trailer springs, mounted up a single axle, installed the pintle hitch and bumperettes, re-attached my air lines, bled my brakes, and flipped one hub. Just me and my trusty Kubota to help move things around. This may sound...
I'm bobbing my deuce right now. I'm using the trailer springs because I think it is pretty simple, makes for a cleaner job, and cheap providing you are using a M105 trailer for the bed anyway. The trailer springs unbolt from the frame. Front deuce springs are riveted and a lot of work to...
CARNAC,
I was hoping you can help me with mine. It's a M35A2C WO/W that apparently had some sort of extensive overhaul. I've done research here and there's a thread about the origins of the NK0XXX serial numbers but it was never really solved. Mine is titled as a 1989 AM General, but...
I thought I would share a few pictures of a M38 (Well, sort of) I just completed for a friend. It's really a bastardized MB. Many years ago the previous owner cut out the side panels that i'm sure were rusted out, and replaced them with sheet metal. This eliminated the indentions for the tools...
Good idea with the flashing. If the tires and rims are off the vehicle you can make a ring out of poster board to shield the tire from the rim. Eastwood sells them, but you can make them just as easily. I think you did the right thing though by shielding the tire.
Welcome to SS, and thank you for your service. I myself am up in the Crestview area. I have an M35A2C and have accumulated all the stuff to bob it. Now if I could just find the time to do it. If you want a deuce ultimately, just hold out a little while. There are a few around here hiding...
