I am slowing down from the rebuilding due to age and the Zenith rebuild kit prices. I will do one if you need it but I much prefer to wait until spring since my garage is unheated. Hard to do fine work with frozen hands. I cannot contact you due to the mods removing your info. I will try to send...
Do these sets really wet stack? I would understand it happening if they were running at idle all day but running at rated 1800 rpm would in itself prevent wet stacking.
Then it must be a different outfit from the ones that got me. Whenever I suspect something nowadays I check out their business address. As you can see this one is in a strip mall with no name on the board. If you all say it is a good outfit then I will go with that, I just think these places...
So they are good? I looked up their address in Delray Beach since I got scammed by a broker there a few years ago and his name was Eric. Thankfully a member here stepped up and delivered my M37 from the museum down there. But looking up their address there is nothing trucking related there. It...
Anyone else get an e-mail from an outfit claiming to be a sponsor of SS called United States of Freight??? Claiming to have some sort of givaway ending tonight. Sounds pretty fishy to me. I never heard of them or any giveaway and it ends tonight.

The manual mistakes range throughout the entire military system. And there is even a form in the back of every manual to point out the mistakes. I think every manual has 20 plus revisions. And yet the mistakes are still there.
The more cylinders you have the smoother it runs. Plus being a diesel the combustion is more pronounced than on a low compression gas motor. I have a couple 002's and an 003. I get the same thing but much louder since they are air cooled.
Acetone works quite well on varnish and gunk. I don't know if I would run it through the pump, You do not really want something that flammable going into the injectors. And the fact it was running good before it is probably not the pump, or the timing.
Alright, now I am going to have to pull the one of mine out that has that issue and check it. I don't think that is going to be my issue since I spent a lot of time with the pumps and running from an auxiliary can through the pumps and bypassing all of the filters and using an inline filter for...
I just watched the videos and I will tell you I have one that does the exact same thing except it does not die. It stumbles and picks up and runs great then stumbles again. I had a thread on it a couple years ago on here. I suspect the pump has been replaced and possibly the timing is off, I...
You are correct, I was not thinking on all cylinders last night. The ball I mentioned is in the bottom of the piston so pressurizing it will push up on the piston. Have a rag over the end in case it blows out and do not use full shop pressure.
I had that happen on mine, I did not realize only one was working until testing and found the bad pump. Took both pumps off to clean them out and bang, major storm popped up and took out the power. My set has no fuel pumps, what to do? I did not even move the aux. pump, I ran a suction line from...
If the pump does not clatter than the piston will be stick in there from gunk and rust. Soak it liberally with WD-40 or similar, both from the open end and in the fitting on the other end. Then smack the open end on a soft 2x4 making sure you do your best to hit flat on the face of the body...
