Re: RE: Re: RE: Re: RE: Builder77 Ethan De-splining?
Same here Bob. I would be more than happy to help out with a project. I've sold my 64 Dodge Crew, and one of my M101A1's, and am just about finished making sure everything is ready to go on the 85 Dodge Crew to put it up for sale. My goal is...
Hey Bjorn, the mag issue you PM'd me about is the Decmber 1993 issue of Petersen's 4Wheel & Off-Road. The picture of my truck is on page 63, you really can't see me driving. The fellow on ther passenger side is blocking me from view. We all took turns running the trucks through these deep...
I had two M656's and bought two or three tops years ago from Naglich's. I sold one at an auction for 5600 and wanted to keep the second one. Looked for the better part of a year trying to find tires. Ended up selling it to someone back east. About a month later a fellow called saying he had...
My Apologies
I got off of work Sunday morning and made my Bride breakfast and started work on the M37 6X6. By the time I was finished and had her chained down on the trailer it was just after 4:00 PM. Time enough to shower and head back to work. I was hoping it would be a quiet evening at work...
Thanks Guys, I'm working on her right now to clean her up a bit. Last seasons hunting marathon across three states took a bit of a toll on her. She should be presentable by morning.
Regards,
Bryan
Just mapped it, I was just right by there the other day shipping out tires to California. I buy...
I'm certainly going to try. I'm right in the middle of my four day rotation at work. 6:00 PM until 6:00 AM in the morning. I'm off of my rotation Monday morning. I thought I'd try to get some clean up on the M37 6X6 tomorrow and replace the broken tail lights on the trailer. I bought another...
Just a thought.
How would this thread have turned out if John T sold Ouverson's hubs as well. I'd feel better. Is this possible? I mean really, would Randy consider offering John an opportunity to help sell his excellent hubs. Would John consider also including them in his inventory. It might...
Re: RE: Re: RE: Builder77 Ethan De-splining?
Hi Bob, I'm not sure who you were nice enough to offer your lathe to, if it was for me, thank you very much. That is indeed very generous. If there is something I can help you out with please let me know. I have a double bay shop here below the...
You called it perfectly! Now go swap your batteries around and read the heading about what trucks the question is dealing with again and quit trying to cover your lack of attention.

Re: RE: Builder77 Ethan De-splining?
Sounds too simple, it would take away my joy of playing on the machines and tinkering. Why make it simple when you can over-engineer the hell out of it and make it twice as complicated at twice the price.

There are many cucv threads dealing with the charging system on them. I must've missed where the thread states it is for a cucv. I believe this was posted in the 5 Ton and up category. Again, for a normal 24 system where there is no discreet 12 volt system available, don't tap off of the center...
First, never consider tapping the top of the first battery (directly grounded negative terminal) which is 12 volts. This always places an imbalance on the system and you end up overcharging and shortening the top batteries life considerably.
The best way is to find what the total power...
Hi Ethan, Bryan here in Colorado. I didn't want to talk about this in the hub thread so I brought it here. You mentioned de-splining the stock hubs for your truck. Do you plan on adding any type of bushing to the hub to help with contact from the splines? How were you planning on removing the...
Re: AVM vs. Ouverson hubs
[ The AVM hub is cast steel, considerably different than cast iron I believe.
Hi John, Thanks for chiming in. There sure has been a lot of crap on this thread. Your hubs have run the gammit of metalurgy. I went down to the shop to see if I still had a crashed...
XL's, XZL's, XML's They'll all Fit with the right rim
I'm finishing a set of adapters to mount the LAV tubeless rims to any M37, Power Wagon 5 lug Budd pattern. They will bolt right up with no modifications and will take any of the 11.00-16 or 325/85-16's. I'm switching my 4x4 over to the XL's...
I've had a Dodge 360 V8 in the 6X6 for over 15 years and have tried to keep it 24 volt throughout except the starter which would have to remain 12 volt. I finally ran out of patience with the various dropping resistors and relays to start the truck on 12 and run it and various accessories on 24...
Interesting, aluminum versus steel, now the massive amount of metal in the Overson's is understood. Does anybody know of, or have heard anything about anyone stressing either brand to failure either intentionally or by accident? Aluminum is susceptable to metal fatique over repeated stress...
