Keep this in mind: Ive passed 2 physical gauges around to sets Teed of of the set (permanent mod of mine) and have seen some variation of the electronic gauges. Some are spot on, some are 5psi off. I think I even had 1 that was even more off.
I havent done any resistance testing or bench...
Tampa weather? Hey I resemble that comment.
But yea, homework is a must for getting these units and maintaining them. Its less required if you get a unit that you arent rebuilding yourself, but still highly encouraged.
The homework here will help even if you dont get a MEP but other diesel...
Thats awesome its running now, I hope it load tests well for you.
I see the diag in picture 6 post 24, so looks like diag and this mod were mutually exclusive, Thats fine by me. Ill be sending you a PM.
Oh, then I am absolutely up for that. I misunderstood. Not enough sleep and I didnt have my coffee this morning... It was downhill from there.
The question would be would it be worth it for me to re-mod from a pile from a de-mod on one of my primary units. I guess you guys will have to tell me...
Ill keep that in mind, shipping would be out of the question but a road trip wouldnt be. Sometime in the next year or 2 im supposed to be picking up a sewing machine in Indiana thats been in the family for generations. My mom has really been harping on me for the better part of a decade to go...
Heck, if you were closer Id trade you one of my non modified sets for the modified sets as the remote monitoring is actually something that would be nice for my application.... When I had my shop I had a control panel by the door with red/green lights that indicated which circuits in the shop...
Wow this is awesome. Back a month or 2 ago when I first started going through all the TMs troubleshooting a no-start I actually made one of these in MS paint.... This is so much better. If you had a tip jar Id throw some change in.
Well dang, this is amazing. I also have a sheet metal shop that primarily does aluminum and stainless (friend's dad's shop, happens to be where I am storing all my generators.)
Do you happen to have the front doors under the control panel? I have a unit the guys in albany drove a forklift...
With the equipment I have I can confirm or deny this. My test methodology should be something along the lines of hook scope up to L1 and L2 referenced around N in 120/240 operation and see what she looks like. This will be my baseline. Then I will hook up somewhere upstream in the circuit before...
Here is the crude non-shoebox version of what I have so far. This doesnt include any controls, etc.... T is the big honkin inductor in the pictures, the inductor between the 2 AC caps are the smaller inductors mounted next to one of the big guys, and the inductor labeled RFI is labeled that...
India Pale Ale? My brother would approve of this method but I dont think I would. Yea water and ipa is normally not solventy enough to break through the crud. plus any time i use alcohol it leaves horrible residue... looking to find a product that works...
I do not want to remove the coating...
So now that I have 80% of this thing mapped out, I ended up finding where some smoke escaped...
So the DC side 400volts. The neutral is center tapped on the filter caps that the inverter gets its juice from. The AC cap that let the smoke out is rated for 160VAC or 250VDC. The question now...
So ive been going through an 831 in the spare time while I wait for parts to come in for my 803s, and aside from the unit being close to mint with a 12 hour engine, This unit has an overvolt condition. L1 - L2 is over 400 volts, L1 - N is 200+ and L2 - N is the remainder.
Alternator on all 4...
Agreed. you really need historical data to see whats going on in a set. If applied correctly out in the real world it works great. Oh this oil analysis has unusually high silicon levels... better check the air filter... oh thats interesting, a rat made a nest in the airbox (and thats how I got...
For my case this is with a new fan/compressor capacitor and a hardstart. Id hate to see what this unit does without it on generator.
FWIW I was forced to replace them when I was trying to start the HP on my old 5500w (6275 surge) HD special screamer unit. On that unit I converted to propane...
Oh wow, I just moved my trailered gens from my brother's in Panama City to my place in St Pete... Had I known you could have bought one off of me but right now the only thing that is at my brother's property are the trailers I left behind because I cant store them locally. If you want one of...
Ive noticed its hit or miss, normally the PA ones have trailers so they post for more anyways. I do notice in my purchases and my first and last trip to PA that any generator that was being moved and I got a chance to talk to was headed south. I did meet a guy in GA with a flatbed semi which was...
Since you can appreciate this bank I decided to throw these pictures up for you of me getting tired of dealing with the wires and put a proper inlet on the unit. As you can see the PU trailer makes a great work surface. This unit is my friend's unit, his gen faces forward with the toolbox in...
Thats along the lines for what I suspected but whenever I searched to see if they mattered to me I came up empty. I figured it would be one of those things where "people who it applies to know how it works and people who it doesnt apply to have no idea"
