Leaking injector fittings
Diagnosing this issue would make a great separate thread. Would make it easier for someone else to follow your issues and learn from your experience than multiple separate posts here I think.
The lift pump does not produce the pressure seen by the injectors. It...
Aside from piggy backing on the 24 volt fuse, sounds like you are going to have some fun with your favorite multimeter if that doesn't fix it.
Keep us posted on what you find ...
Here in the Northeast I've seen horror stories with rear discs in trucks. They are now using a very caustic liquid to de-ice our roads. Drums in the rear fare much better, especially considering e-brake functioning. Just my experience for what it's worth ...
Not if they put it on the internet! I read that on the internet! roflrofl
I also read this somewhere: Caveat emptor!
Might I recommend seeing if there is a vehicle inspection service offered in the sellers area? May be worth the investment if you are concerned. Of course, vetting the...
Old Diesel, Injection Pumps and Injectors
FYI, Diesel fuel degrades over time. It loses lubricity, or it's ability to provide lubrication.
The IP and Injectors in our trucks depend on the lubricity of the fuel. When the fuel degrades, scoring and wear will occur.
Trucks this old with very...
Just remember that a big consideration for the factory intake design was noise reduction. Not necessarily improved or cooler air flow. If you can get the intake pulses out in front of the radiator support, you dramatically reduce the under hood noise level. A major cause of the noise our...
Please check the -10 TM.

when engine is cold.)"
Looks to me like your glow plug relay.
Please provide more information regarding how you performed any diagnostics. Check the TM's for glow plug troubleshooting.
The obvious, you'll have to diagnose the system one step at a time, but if both systems are failing intermittently at the same time I would focus on the parts of the systems that are in common to both. Sounds like you are already heading that direction.
Just a reminder that the ground tab in...
Well, it's time to remove the last little bit of GL forklift damage from the old girl. She has a nice little 'V' in the tank, and replacement is in order. 1985 M1008A1.
Also trying to decide if the plastic is worth the extra samolians.
I have been doing some research, and leaning to the...
No match for that part number on NAPA's online search engine, FYI.
UPDATE: Warthog found it by dropping the BK prefix. (see below) Now about $20 in my area.
That's funny, I swear the exact same switch used to turn on the motor when hooked up to AC power, shut down the system when not connected.
How could that happen?
Alternator Secrets
So, pretty easy to find information out on that new fangled internet thingy.
According to this: http://www.otherpower.com/images/scimages/1431/Alternator_Secrets.pdf (page 8 )
"Suppose we're producing 3600 watts. Since 746 watts equals one horsepower, it's a simple matter...
