It is the same truck in the first picture, shadow of the axle looks to be there. Second picture sure seems to be missing. Optical illusion?

    Engine startup advice

Yes, follow this advise, DH is spot on, starter wont engage the flywheel w/o the solinoid be actuated. Still be careful.

    Engine startup advice

With the batteries installed, you can jump the starter, a large junk screw driver across the positive lead at the starter solinoid to the starter lead. May cause sparks if not firmly contacted. Pull the screw driver off after it stats. Make sure the fuel s/o is not pulled. This procedure is...

Need to move a M35a2 from Somerset to Pittsburgh 100miles

The pump in the tank is an easy fix. There is no true "fuse" for the pump. A wrecker service may be the way to go. I had one transported 50 miles on a RGN, $250. Truck ran, just not brakes. Maybe find a member here with a tow bar. Nice afternoon project.

Need to move a M35a2 from Somerset to Pittsburgh 100miles

Is it drivable? Not up on PA zip codes; what is the distance? They tow real easy with another big truck.

    Just joined the Deuce club!

Congrats on your new truck. Looks to be well maintained. Many deuces got a second life w/ fire departments. The red paint jobs add a little character to them. I've seen many fire dept. paint schemes that I would keep. Great for parade duty. Have fun, be safe.

    Newer member

Welcome from Kentucky, as for service, working on these ol' trucks is half the fun. The big truck shops really don't want to deal with them, maybe a independent shop w/ and ol' timer still at it. Have fun, be safe.

    Will not start

Ken, Batteries can be fickle. If they are truely one year old, I'd take them back to the store/seller. If they came w/ the vehicle their age would be questionable. Wyoming weather/winters can be tough on equipment, especially batteries. I recently purchased two Group 31 for a deuce, topped them...
