The "earthquake" is an awesome impact for the price.
I got my sugar scoop, spring base, and antenna. Also got the spacer, backing plate, and tie down. Ordered an antenna online and I've got all my pieces! Sanded everything down to rough it up, and painted it tan to match the truck.
Now...
As far as the pole mounted ones are concerned.......isn't proper grounding important with these radios/antennas? I would think just clamping it to a pole wouldn't be sufficient enough, even with the one ground strap. Am I wrong thinking this way?
haha, not even close.
Your truck has a lot of "funny" things that I see in the pics. If I were in your shoes, I too would be very curious as to her history.
I'm still very new to this compared to some of the old farts around here, but I've been lurking in the shadows for a few years now. If...

Realized that the straps I have on my corners are the wrong ones for the newer vinyl cover. Ordered up the proper ones and should have them soon.
Also, ordered up my sugar scoop and antenna base off epay. Need to make the spacer to mount on the side of the bed, then start my radio setup...
....in regards to military vehicles.
I am hoping to have a fairly decent convoy heading to the Iola show next year, just want to make sure we have our ducks in a row.
Anyone have any tangible information regarding this?
My wing man and I spent the night in our deuce on Wednesday night. Spent the night playing Checkers and Jenga. It is the start of our camping kit that we are building. Sunday night, the plan is to have the 7yo, 2yo, myself, and momma. She despises the truck, so this is a huge jump!
