Does anyone have a good used one they want to sell? If so I may be able to help buy it. Ruppster

    Hemitt wheels?

I was thinking the same thing at first (about the MK17) but if I remember correctly the MK17 has an odd sized rim, something like 21 inches. Ruppster

    Hemitt wheels?

What ever they're made for uses hub piloted rims, not stud piloted like the older 5 tons. So even if the pattern was correct the holes for the lug nuts is not beveled. Those rims are meant for use with a flanged type lug nut. Anyone know what kind of rims the Stryker uses? Ruppster

    Is it even possible...

Hopefully you will be able to get a temp tag as this could save you having to get permits. When I drove a truck and trailer from Kentucky to the southeast corner of Virginia I did it with a temp tag from VA. Had a few weigh scales stop me and as soon as they saw the temp tag and the rest of the...

    Is it even possible...

Have you checked with your state's DMV? How about the state the vehicle is coming from? Some states sell temp tags for newly purchased vehicles. Florida will issue a 30 temp tag but it's mainly so you can drive the vehicle to the DMV office so they can confirm the VIN. The bummer is you have to...

    5th Wheel Plate M920/M916

Capus UK Ltd - CAP 220 - ADAPTOR 2" (50mm) to 3.5" (89mm) KINGPINS And while I was searching for adapters I came across a post by M920 (Soni) about how to change out the plate. It's the seventh post down. http://www.steelsoldiers.com/5-ton-up/61262-m920-wet-kit.html Ruppster

    5th Wheel Plate M920/M916

As R Racing mentioned: The standard military 5 ton fifth wheel would be the 2 inch (normal commercial size). When I say larger trucks I mean the trucks bigger then a 5 ton. The trucks the military uses for pulling the really heavy stuff, like the M920. Not sure if the M915 has a 2 inch or...

    5th Wheel Plate M920/M916

For the first question judging by his comment of "My adapters seem to be working well" I would guess he made them himself. :) But I think they can also be bought from trucking places online. As for why the fifth wheels on the larger trucks are made for a larger pin on the trailer (3 inch I...

Tire Valve Extensions - OK to Use ?

I have these on the inner duals of my semi truck. They work pretty good and I haven't had any problems with them (other then below). But I also don't run it in the mud and rocks so I don't know how well they would take that kind of abuse. If you use something like those above I do have a...

International Title Service --- A+ SERVICE!

Thanks for the update. My only question is about the Vermont application for registration. The link you gave for the Vermont instructions refers to a form that asks for a Vermont driver's license number. When you talked to Vermont did they say anything about this? Can you enter a driver's...

    $575 to Title

Glad to hear things worked out in the end. I also wanted to add a little info about the GVWR issue for others that might be in the same boat you were. They like to get GVW and GVWR confused. When it comes to registration GVW is not the same as GVWR. When dealing with a truck bigger then a one...

GL watch list doesn't show trucks after auction ends

I have seen similar comments made by others on SS and the usual response was that it was due to the items requiring an EUC. It seems non EUC items will stay in your watch list after the auction closes but not EUC items. What I do is bookmark the main page for the Event ID. Then you can pull up...

    looky what I got!

The arctic kit comes with 2 heaters, one for the engine and one for the interior and battery boxes. It is mainly meant for temps below zero as diesel engines are hard to start when it's really cold. The heater for the engine warmed the engine coolant and oil along with the transmission oil pan...

    IH tractor home.

Cool! Glad to hear the engine is something you can use. The main thing I think it lacks is oil squirters to spray oil at the underside of the pistons to keep them cool. From what I understand that is the main item that limits how much fuel you can add to it to turn up the power. There are...

    What is....

Oh, I know. I was talking about the use of 6 lugs on a civilian dolly. The OP was asking if it was military or a civilian dolly with military tires and that's why I mentioned the 6 lugs. A civilian dolly wouldn't have bothered with a 6 lug rim since normal semi trucks use a 10 lug Budd rim. But...

    What is....

Looks like a homemade job using the frame from an M105 trailer. Notice the rims have 6 lugs and not 10 like a commercial dolly would. I would not touch that one with a 10 foot pole. :) There is a commercial dolly for sale locally. I will email the details to you in case you don't mind a...
