I just won one of these at Redstone. The pictures are helpful to me because I need to bring along a spare tire when I retrieve the unit. Looks like the M1008 rims will fit this trailer.
I clicked on the send button before adding an explanation. This is just an Ebay auction for CUCV clevis rings. Below is the title of the auction:
M-1008,M1010,M1028 CUCV rear "D'' ring set
I have the Interstate 6TLs in my deuce and have had excellent service from them (so far) but it may be due to the fact that I have used a solargizer since I first hooked up the batteries. We have a Royal Battery dealer nearby that offers a much better warranty than Interstate. The price is...
Interesting perspective about shutting down the motor. I would probably put the transmission in high gear and let out the clutch with my foot on the brakes to stop the motor but that might burn out the clutch - what do you think? I never even thought about this situation but it is nice to...
It was relatively easy. Once you remove the cells from the housing you just splice into the conductors leading to each of the pins making sure you keep the polarity the same as it was before the modification. You just drill holes for whatever you want to use for receptacles, in my case, the...
I just uploaded a very short video which makes use of a semi-defective NATO female jumper cable part that most people would dispose of. There are many applications for this part besides using it to fabricate a Dewalt Battery Cheater like the one I made. I can also use this to power my 24 volt...
Thanks for the honorable mention in your thread Mike! The pleasure of meeting you was all mine by the way. I do plan to be at the Florida rally this year and will take my M1008A1 unless I can get the knuckle boots replaced on my deuce. I do hope the tranny you got from me is helpful in your...
I have heard that you start the engine with diesel and switch over to WVO and visa-versa when shutting down. There's also something about a "return line" going to each separate fuel tank. How is that accomplished? I can just imagine having one fuel contaminating the other through one return line.
I am curious to know what the 50/50 mix consists of? One person I met from Tennessee converted his truck to run on WVO and had a separate tank for straight WVO and a re-usable filter mounted on the engine that he could take apart and clean which he bought from an Ebay auction. I took pictures...
Sasquatchsanta, what if you mixed some dark colored used motor oil in with the transmission fluid to mask the color? I have never heard of fuel checks here in Florida but I am sure it does take place somewhere on the interstate - possibly at the weigh stations.
I may have asnwered my own question after looking over a list of fuels from the 10. At the bottom is shows "Burner Fuel Oil, VV-F-815, grade FO-1 0 degrees F (-18 degrees C)" and also shows FO-2 directly under that which I assume is #2 Fuel Oil. If I am wrong, someone let me know! I am not...
#2 Fuel Oil
Had to search for the thread but finally found it regarding alternate fuels. My question is - #2 Fuel oil? I was just given about 80 gallons of the stuff and it looks very close to what diesel looks like but red in color- even smells a bit like diesel. As I got towards the bottom...
RE: Re: RE: Re: I got pulled over in my Deuce
Hey there SoundGuy, ever get up to Camp Beauregard? They had a really nice Deuce with Military Police on the doors that some lucky person won. They have some nice trucks in that GL lot and they go pretty cheap too! It' just too far from Florida...
RE: Re: Jerry Rig of the Day
Not sure what the connector is but guessing it is the glad hand supply part that you hook your accessory line to. You can include that as well in case the one I have is different. If there's a shutoff valve in line with the fittings I would love to have that...
RE: Jerry Rig of the Day
JT, each little tidbit of information helps! Once I get the Bulkhead Connector the rest of the fittings look like they are available over at Lowe's or Home Depot. Any old shutoff valve will do. I liked the one that my buddy Ian has on the deuce he just bought over...
