Any stateside source for Yanmar rubber grommet/isolators for MEP-831A?

I have a handful of 831s that everything rubber has been replaced, except for the rubber cushions / grommets / isolators that hold the front cover / airflow thing to the engine. All of these generators came with these grommets in great shape, however because I run all of my gens extensively as...

help using all 3 phases of 804b

It comes in waves, sometimes theres hundreds, sometimes theres none. Lately its been a lot of 802s. I only have 2 803s left... Im sure another wave will happen after everything rebounds from the stunt RB did with their mega auctions lately.

help using all 3 phases of 804b

Well that escalated quickly. So Ill bite, but I am probably going to be a little off base or the solution is astronomically expensive. (or borderline dangerous)... This would be uncharted territory for me so just talking theory. So we want to take balanced 3 phase to run some single phase...

    LPW2 Questions

Nice project, super jealous. Im waiting for my honda for my cat pump pressure washer to die to put behind one of these diesels, and I am very curious on the turbo setup. What turbo did you end up using? The spec sheets for the 4 cylinder turbo look good, and appears to be the same turbo out of...

Another fan of the Gates, thats all I use on the units I rebuild.

    Mep-803 coolant stain on head?

Ive gotten a few gens like that and havent had one with a blown headgasket yet. I attribute it to condensation. Sure it could be a headgasket but like Guy said, fill her up with fluids and give it a whirl. If you are concerned bar it over by hand a few times first.

Installed Mechanical Oil Pressure Gauge on MEP-803A

I found I run into a LOT of gauges that are pegged zero, I dont know why or how, but it seems the needle ends up burying itself under the lip which has more static friction than the force the gauge can exert to move it, so its effectively stuck until unjammed. Ive been taking the face off...

    MEP-803a auto frequency controller!

I purchased a cummins branded commercial gen for the sole reason of it being the same DN4M engine that is in our 803s. Its rated 16kw, non turbo, electronic governor control. I will be reverse engineering it, getting part numbers, etc for the sole purpose of throwing up on the forums here...

Has anyone sourced the MEP803a generator end bearing?

Nope, only cleaning. For something like that I am sure I could make it worse so if I had any concerns the insulation was compromised I would have sent it to a motor shop. The existing coating looked ok. This particular one had a trashed engine so I grabbed a mint 400hz unit to throw this genhead...

Has anyone put casters on their 802 or 803?

8x6.5 is the bolt pattern for the trailers that use the hmmwv wheels. Dont get 99-up ford 8 lug which would be 8x170, 8x200 or 8x225.... They really need to stick to something. Actually E series vans used 8x6.5 because my 2006 has that bolt pattern. Ive graduated to medium duty recently but the...

Has anyone put casters on their 802 or 803?

No problem, I just ordered 8 since I am down to 1 set of gen dollys right now. Oh and a pair of gloves to get over the limit for the next tier for the free gift card.

    MEP-831A Oil Pressure Sender Suggestions

Holy crap. Almost like the JD powered TQG generator which sit around 80psi.

Has anyone put casters on their 802 or 803?

6 inch, I didnt want the center of gravity too high. https://www.northerntool.com/shop/tools/product_200660391_200660391 Oh and the price went back down, now is the time to buy them. (they sometimes hover around $45-$50 each) And indeed it is. Need to get my welder back together soon. BTW...

    MEP-831A Oil Pressure Sender Suggestions

I like the idea of using the same P/N as the 802/803 for simplicity, as long as parts availability is there. Im questioning the complexity of the mounting of that big thing though and if through a hose like the 802/3 the costs would be higher. Best of both worlds would be to find a small...

Pallet jack to move MEP-803a around shop?

I threw caster pics up in the post that was linked on page 1 for the casters I make (and sometimes whoever I deliver the gen to ends up into talking me into purchasing) to move gens around the shop...

Has anyone put casters on their 802 or 803?

Heres what I have because I am always moving these things around. I built a few sets of casters to move all these units around, and I built them good enough so I can run the 1200lbs over a 1inch concrete lip with great speed and not have any issues with longevity. I didnt have enough aluminum so...

Has anyone sourced the MEP803a generator end bearing?

Looks like you already found your answer, and yes that is the correct part number. Looks like I forgot to put the part number in my thread regarding replacement. See...

    MEP-803A Spare Parts

Ill just chime in and fuel return lines. Make sure they are solid before going out (id replace them anyways, my personal opinion is the continental fabric hose that is used is garbage and is good for a season or 2 unless upgraded) and have enough line to redo it in the bush.
