    MEP-803A / MEP-802A Water Temp Gauge

Valid points. I'm really looking to maintain the stock aesthetics. Even if the gauge runs high/low, as long as it's consistent, it will alert you to a concerning or different state. As far as a nice home; I'm hoping that if I treat it well, it will treat me well for years to come :) Just...

    MEP-803A / MEP-802A Water Temp Gauge

If 1KW = ~3,412 then 16KW BTU that would put this in the range of a medium size pool heater. Probably looking a 1-2 degree rise per hour with a pool that size. Certainly better than dumping it to the atmosphere! Or in my case, my lawn... Updated original post.

    MEP-803A / MEP-802A Water Temp Gauge

I have a hot tub and have considered timing the water change outs with load testing. I bet my 11.5KW's would heat up that 500 gallons in a few hours :). One thing I've noticed using my well water is, the elements rust pretty bad. Not sure if that's normal or not. I've always had gas water...

    MEP-803A / MEP-802A Water Temp Gauge

My soil is too rocky to reasonable dig posts. This was the next best solution. Hopefully it will hold up. Here is a pic of the water heater setup. Kind of ghetto to be honest, but it does the job. Components to setup: (1) breaker box (3) 30a breakers (10 ft) 8awg SOW cable (2) 3500w 240v...

    MEP-803A / MEP-802A Water Temp Gauge

Hi everyone - I picked up my generator on Friday, and got er' installed by mid day on Sunday. Still have to finish running the electrical conduit/wire - but not bad for a weekends work! Model: MEP-803A Year: 2007 Hours at time of purchase: 116 Price paid: $1,500 + taxes/GL fees (price was...

    MEP-803A Frequency Transducer Needed

I have both the -10 and the -24 manuals. I have admittedly not read both in their entirety. I think your answers to both this post and my other thread show that I should! (and I will). I saw your thread on the interpreting and understanding the -10 manual, I've printed it and placed it with my...

    MEP-803A Frequency Transducer Needed

csheath - Very functional! Do the digital readouts align with your multi meter? Thanks, Guyfang! I was looking for the NSN #, but couldn't locate. Where did you pull that from? If you look at the second to last picture that I posted; A7_Side4.jpg It looks to me like the large green capacitor...

    MEP-803A Frequency Transducer Needed

Not sure what happened to the original post, however hopefully you can see the pics and part numbers above. I ended up ordering a Murata DMR20-1-FM-R-C HZ meter. There are complementing Voltage and Amperage gauges as well. For $40 (just for the HZ gauge), I didn't think I could locate a new...

    MEP-803A Frequency Transducer Needed

I’ve got the genset up and running; the problem is that the hz meter doesn’t work. I was able to test the frequency at the output lugs (and convenience receptacle), and use the “frequency adjuster” to adjust the set to 60hz. So I’m positive that I’m getting 60hz @120v in both places. I used the...

    MEP-803A Frequency Transducer Needed

I ended up purchasing a digital meter from Mouser. I rolled the dice, I didn’t think that a replacement A7 could be procured for less than $40. http://www.mouser.com/Search/ProductDetail.aspx?R=DMR20-1-FM-R-Cvirtualkey58010000virtualkey580-DMR20-1-FM-R-C

MEP-803A - No Hz & No Voltage on Load Terminals

MEP-803A - No Hz & No Voltage on Load Terminals Of course! These are the only ones I have on my phone. I'll take a video of me load testing in a few weeks when I get the load bank put together. I will be using this in a home backup setup. More details to come. Sent from my iPhone...

MEP-803A - No Hz & No Voltage on Load Terminals

MEP-803A - No Hz & No Voltage on Load Terminals In my internet searches, I couldn't locate any information on a replacement A7. I took the unit apart to see if anything looked obviously fried, and it didn't. I'll post pictures of the A7 guts in my other thread. I found a clean looking HZ...

MEP-803A - No Hz & No Voltage on Load Terminals

Thanks, Guy. Admittedly I skimmed through the startup procedure. I couldn't turn the engine by hand, and that had me nervous. After dead cranking it and seeing how easy it turned over, I got over excited. I'm sure you all can relate! :) With regard to the gauge; I found this HZ gauge at Mouser...

MEP-803A - No Hz & No Voltage on Load Terminals

Fixed the no load issue. Helps if you click the interrupter switch! I'm now registering 120V at the lugs based on the above setup. I also diagnosed the no HZ I was having. The A7 is toast. The M2 registers fine when testing with the OHM setting on my amprobe. I can post pics of the circuit...

MEP-803A - No Hz & No Voltage on Load Terminals

Hi – I’ve been lurking on the site for a few weeks now in anticipation of picking up an MEP-803A. Well I finally won an auction last week and picked up my gen set yesterday. This thing is in GREAT shape! Hardly a scratch. I got the inspection paperwork with it. The only thing it called for was...
