Thanks for the tip. That's all I needed was an idea of where to shop around for one. I would have posted in the want ads but I'd like to get a pump ASAP.
K10A: Why don't you go **** yourself.
If you don't like the word that the sensorship put in, then I will send you a PM with the...
THANKS FOR HIJACKING MY THREAD EVERYONE.
None of your b.s. helps me locate an IP for my M1009 and as usual, threads go off on a tangent. It's no wonder why I don't post as much as I used to anymore.
Having a CDL is a good thing. The test is not too difficult (remember...truck drivers can pass it). The physical is a pain but I've learned as I've gotten older that it pays to get a checkup every two years.
You will get in trouble if you are driving a CDL required vehicle (if you get caught).
Besides pre-killing your grass, make sure you schmooze up to the local code enforcement official because you are bound to piss off your neighbors with the first deuce. The second deuce, M105 trailer, and eventually a CUCV will lead you to have to search for a good lawyer to fight town hall and...
RE: general area
This camper and trip is amazing. However, it's still just a deuce. Loud, uncomfortable on long trips, and slow. It would be nice to make one of these out of an FMTV.
I always take off a tag from one of my other trailers if I want to be legal. But I've often towed trailers without plates. I hauled a tow dolly with a 26' M117 attached to it from Ashville, NC to NJ without any tags. I just made sure that all the lights worked. A lot of LEO's don't even...
That's the same reason I want to change my IP. I am only getting around15mpg and it is slow when taking off, even slower with a trailer. Also, the exhaust is smoking, a typical sign of a worn IP.
The links page is disappointing. Come on Mike, use your magic and make this look professional like the rest of the site! How about a page of the banners that the advertisers use?
RE: Check this travesty
I often see tractor trailers loaded with half a dozen goats, headed to the bombing range near Fallon, NV. It's sad. There must be a few hundred vehicles parked in the desert, waiting to be blown up.
Thanks Kenny. I just thought there would be a quick source for the pump here on SS. As I said above, I can get one but it will be about $450, that includes swapping my core. The only diesel place around here is very expensive when it comes to service. I'd rather jut get a rebuilt and install...
I totally agree on buying a hitch that you can move up or down. On my 2500 Suburban, I have a receiver that has ten holes on either side. It allows me to tow just about any military trailer and keep it level. It was $75 at a local trailer shop, plus the pintle for $50.
Brad,
It's always been my understanding that the part on the vehicle is the pintle, and the part on the trailer is the lunette or eye. Having a square tube mounted on the vehicle is called a receiver, which a pintle or ball hitch would slide into.
Do you have a picture of the "standard tow...
Mike,
I'll send you a PM for Phillip Tupelu's phone number. He's listed on the member map. I know he doesn't have any space but there is a guy that he and I visited last year who is about two miles from him. He's got a big yard, fenced in, with twenty or so MV's that he has collected. A...
Mike,
Look on the member locator map. I know there is a guy in Rio Rancho which is just north of Albuquerque (10 minutes). He has a big yard with a lot of MV's. A real nice guy too.
Good luck!
