The lead wire from the starter "S" terminal shorted on the exhaust manifold, melted the wire and fried the starter relay. An easy fix.

Thanks for all the help. I did locate the problem: When I dropped off my starter, I had a lead wire off of the solenoid which makes installing the wires much easier. When I picked it up, the mechanic moved the lead wire to a different terminal on the solenoid. I always forget which terminal...

I had the starter off of the truck and brought it to a repair shop. It tested fine. The solenoid was not working properly so it was replaced.

The starter was removed and tested and worked fine. It's not the starter. Once again, I ask: how do you bypass the ignition to start it?

Ok...this is the third time that I've had problems with starting my M1009. Previous times, I was able to fix it but this time I am perplexed and just about ready to call it names like %$#@*&^^%%@$@$!!!!!. Here's the scenario: I had slow starting a couple days in a row, signs of weak batteries...

That's good that the names never get reissued. But what about a memorial page with their avatars and photos? Often, I don't look for their name but their avatar when they post something. It would be a shame if we forgot all of these great guys who have made this site what it is.

With the passing of a few SS members recently, I have a thought: How about a page for SS members who have passed away? It could have pictures of them, their vehicles, their SS name, and their avatar. Also, can it be made that their SS name never gets reissued?

I can't say enough good things about Kenny. I've only met him a handful of times and each time he was overly friendly and helpful. I think the majority of the SS members are like Kenny. Any disrespect to someone who helps as much as Kenny does should not be tolerated. Just my 2 Euros.

Kyle, I owned a Unimog U1300L and there is no way that the Mite can go where the Mog could go. You have mentioned that the Mite can go anywhere a Mog can but you always state that you go around things. That isn't the same thing. The Mite is cool, fun, capable but certainly not a Unimog and...

Kyle, Yes, I did say that I kept up with some of the Mogs and all of the Pinzs. However, I will not accept that a Mite can go anywhere a Mog can go. It simply does not have the ground clearance and articulation that a Mog has. Overall, I was impressed with it's performance. It did much more...
