Hood clearance is the only real problem from what I understand but a 350/400 swap with the 800 hood can be done. The main issue is the charged air tube that goes from the turbo over the top of the engine to the intake. Somewhere in the SS forums is a thread where a member put a 400 Cummins in...
Phil spoke up for you earlier and informed me of my error. When I was talking with Wayne (Pinz25086) I could have sworn he told me you were related to PCTrans, not Phil. It must have been all the exhaust fumes I was inhaling from sitting up front in the bed. It smelled so good though. :D Either...
Oh, I know. Phil listed the trucks and owners and had commented about naming other SS members that were present. I didn't see Wayne/Pinz25086 listed so I thought I would mention him. Thanks.
Edit: Oops, nevermind. He did have Wayne listed the first time around but I missed it. Phil has since...
Pinz25086 and his wife were in the back of the same deuce I was riding in on Saturday. He's the only name I haven't seen mentioned yet. Everyone else I can think of at the moment have already been mentioned.

Thanks for clearing that up, Phil. Teach me to assume he looked young enough for that to be his kid. :D She was still a trooper.
Anyhow, a big thanks goes out to him for letting me ride in the back. I hope I didn't mess up the videos he asked me to take with his camera. In one of the water...
In the first two vids you can really hear the multi-fuel at work. SO CRANK UP THOSE SPEAKERS! :D
The truck behind us at the time had SixSpeed and friends (sorry, didn't catch their names) riding in the bed (they got just as soaked as I did when the rain came down) and Cessnatwin was riding...
At one point on the trail we had a traffic jam due to an obstacle in a mud hole. I know cessnatwin posted his pics of the trouble maker but I thought I would add mine too (along with a couple of mpegs of the critter). The first mpeg is 31 megs and the second one is 36 megs. Sorry for the large...
From what I understand the deuce and a half that I rode in the back of was owned by the brother of PCTrans. Don't know if he is a member of SS or not. Anyhow, he had his little girl riding shotgun. This kid is a real trooper. She seemed to be having as much fun as us big kids. Didn't even raise...
Thanks. Here's the first couple of videos. Not for those with slow internet connections. First one is 15 megs and the second is 17 megs. More to come.

Cessnatwin started a new thread with a lot of pictures that he took.

Yeah, we got dumped on. Twice. :D Had about half an inch of water sloshing around the bed of the deuce and a half I was riding in the back of. At least I had a change of clothes in the van as I was completely soaked by the time we got back to camp.
Cessnatwin, I hope you don't mind if I add my...
I'm only going up for the afternoon on Saturday. Will be leaving out of Tampa Saturday morning with a return that evening. Have room for 5 more people in the van if anyone wants to catch a ride and keep their fuel money. Just let me know if anyone wants to ride along.

:D Sorry, I like to yank people's chains every now and then. Few people know that Dodge used to build semi trucks. Sometimes I go on the Dodge diesel forums and have fun with them.
No problem there. What's the point in having a forum for asking questions if asking questions does nothing but...
<sigh>
I think I pretty much said that. Guess you missed it.
No, it was not missed. I even replied to it. Guess YOU missed that too.
As I said, some of what was posted was a joke. Try getting off your high horse and mellow out every now and then, okay? :D

I don't have any decent pictures of the truck with the 8V71 but I do have some pics of it's smaller brother, an ex-Air Force tanker chassis on my web site.
1975 Dodge XCNT800
This truck has the Cummins 555 CID V8 (smaller brother to the Cummins 903 300 hp V8 used in the military 10 ton...
I would re-think the 8V71 idea as it ain't going to happen without a ton of custom work and a rather large transmission, along with a whole lot of money. The Dodge I have that has an 8V71 is a special Dodge that is a lot larger then usual and the cab had to be raised up in order to fit the 8V71...
There you go. I like the boat idea. And if you make it a really big boat you could tell her that you have to buy a deuce and a half in order to tow it. :D
